Re: Error Code #10417 Your request could not be processed at this time?

I've been beating my head, trying to make a payment to a retailer in Australia through paypal but running into an astounding number of problems. I HAVE to make this purchase before the end of the week.

First of all, I created the account because the retailer would not take overseas credit card payments. Then I had to wait 7 days to get the credit card verified by paypal. And now when I try to make the payment I just cant seem to get through. I keep getting the error message 10417...use other payment method.

If I had an option I would have used the 'other' payment method but I can't. Can anyone let me know when this problem will be resolved. I even got authorization from the bank for paypal payments. Is it a problem on the paypal software side?

Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding the error message your
customers have been receiving when they try to purchase an item from you
through eBay.

We are aware of the intermittent error 10417 in the eBay
checkout flow. We are currently working to get this resolved. Please
request the buyer to send the payment using the PayPal checkout flow.

To send money for an eBay item from your PayPal account, please complete
the following steps:

1. Log in to your account at https://www.paypal.com/
2. Click the 'Send Money' tab.
3. Click 'Pay for eBay items' subtab.
4. Click the 'Pay' button in the 'Action' column.
5. Review the payment details and click "Continue".
6. Review the details of the payment including the 'Source of Funds'.
If the payment that you are sending exceeds the amount of funds in your
PayPal account, you can click the 'More Funding Options' link to change
the source of funds for the payment.
7. Click 'Send Money' to complete the payment. To change any
information, click 'Edit'. Please note: If you edit your payment
details, the funding source will return to the default method of
payment.

If you don't have a PayPal account, simply enter your credit card
information during your purchase payment flow.

If it has been more than 7 days since the auction closed, please follow
the below steps.

1. Log in to your account at https://www.paypal.com/
2. Click the 'Send Money' tab.
3. Fill out the form.
4. Select 'Goods Other'.
5. Click 'Continue'.
6. Review the details of the payment, including the 'Source of
Funds'. If the payment that you're sending exceeds the amount of funds
in your PayPal account, you can click the 'More Funding Options' link to
change the source of funds for the payment.
7. Click 'Send Money' to complete the payment. To change any
information, click 'Edit'. Please note: If you edit your payment
details, the funding source will return to the default method of
payment.

We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter, and
wish you continued success on PayPal.

Yours sincerely,
PayPal

I tried that and now paypal is saying, "We were unable to verify the credit card you are using with this transaction. Please check that the credit card information you originally provided PayPal is still correct."

This is some major BS. Why the **bleep** am I having all these problems NOW??? I've bought a million different things before using paypal and have NEVER heard that before. Why the heck is the whole paypal system crumbling into a pile of crap NOW?

I also have the same problem. I have money in my checking and my saving accounts. But it wont let me process a transaction that I've been waiting to pay the guy for 4 days.

I dont want to receive negative feedback for an issue that isn't my fault.
