Still not seeing a solution. It appears as though paypal isn't even doing anything. I've personally e-mailed paypal and got a generic auto-response that did not help AT ALL. I've also noticed that the moment anyone on these boards calls Paypal out for crappy customer service in some way, shape, or form, all of the "paypal_so-and-so" people stop talking to them and stop helping. They will neither confirm or deny the presence of an issue, nor try to calm the people down, nor offer advice or alternatives...nothing. The moment a customer sights a gross misconduct, their thread is effectively ignored by the paypal mod posters. Hmm....avoiding much? Don't want to deal with the angry masses or simply don't have any answers for them? Either way, it doesn't look good. And to answer your internal question, Yes, I am a tad hostile. I don't like being jerked around when it comes to money and payments for things, and I expect a large company like this to have better answers, faster solutions, and more "bend-over-backwards-to-please-you" service. Because yes, I think that's how companies should run, they should be doing EVERYTHING in their human power to please the customers and gain trust, loyalty, and repeat business. This more or less feels like, "Take a number and we'll help you when we get around to it." If you know your site is glitching out this bad for several days/weeks, then perhaps you set up a different temporary way for people to pay until you can fix your issues?? Perhaps offer to let people complete their transactions over the phone with the assistance of a paypal rep who can make the payment go through? SOMETHING. ANYTHING. Just a suggestion. "We'll work on it, and meanwhile leave you hanging!" is not good enough.
