How can I report an unauthorized transaction that was made

I was buying an item from a website and upon payment he changed to as a donation and then a different name appeared. I didn’t get a invoice so I knew I was scammed. What else there to do now

An unauthorized transaction is a transaction made without your knowledge because your account was breached. So if you yourself made payment, it is not considered unauthorized.

Did you see “donation” mentioned anywhere prior to finalizing payment? Unfortunately, donations are not covered under PayPal buyer protection. If you paid by credit card, you may try a credit card chargeback.

It used PayPal credit. It showed something about a donation and I thought they give a part as a donation. For charity. Is PayPal this much bad with buyer protection?

@Dcyr, welcome! I'm sorry to hear a recent transaction hasn't gone quite as you had expected. During an investigation of an unauthorized dispute, PayPal would consider it  unauthorized when someone steals / fraudulently obtains the login information for your PayPal account, uses that information to access your PayPal account, and then sends a payment from your PayPal account. Since you made the transaction, PayPal would not deem it as unauthorized. 

Also, donations are not covered under our Purchase Protection for Goods and Services. In this case, you may want to reach out to PayPal Credit to see if any options are available.
