Phone number changed - can't log in

My mobile number changed a few years ago but I never updated my profile. 

Now I can't log in as Paypal wants to send me a text on the old number to verify the account.

I've tried logging in from a different browser which doesn't work.

Also tried using the Help Chat system, but this also requires me to log in to proceed.

Tried ringing the help support number but spent ages going round and round in circles with the automated options, could not get to a point of speaking to an actual person.

Funny thing is, when I selected 'Ask the Community' to access this forum, it allowed me to log in to create this profile to do this!

Really stuck as to how to resolve. Would really appreciate if anyone can offer some help with this please?

Hy,

sadly I have changed my telephone number and want to access an account I have not used for a while.

I know the username - password, and also the email, everything is correct. But I cannot login because of the changed telephone number (SMS before login). Is there a way to somehow regain access to my account with email and password?

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to close your old Paypal account and open a new Paypal account registered in the country where you now live. You would then need to add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

You should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts / cancel any subscriptions and close the old Paypal account before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.

I lost access to my account. I'm from portugal and i cannot remember the old sim i used in the account. Now i couldn't login to my account. When contacting the support i couldn't reach them. Need help in regaining the access to my account.

I deleted my number from my account and added new phone numbers. I logged out the account and on trying to log back in it keeps showing me the error message of "We are having trouble verifying that it's you". I've called customer support and they said I should wait for the system to reload but it's been 5 days. I don't know what to do, please can anyone help?

I lost my number 2 years ago, and no matter what I tried: no human would get in touch with me to help me back into my account. I've had trouble and don't have another number now: does this mean I'm technically locked out of my own account? 

The bot on the phone said it was still there, but it doesn't matter if I can't get to it
