the phone number that i'm trying to add is not accepted

i'm trying to add a new phone number is not accepted it says that it must be shorter, while my phone number is composed of 10 digits.
I have tried the folowing format :
XXXXXXXXXX
(XXX) XXX-XXXX
XXX XXX XXXX
But without success
