What does 'I will accept liability for this transaction' mean?

A buyer purchased a service from me and changed her mind within an hour after sending me the payment. She opened a case in PayPal (unathorized charge) and then emailed me that she had changed her mind about the transaction - BUYER'S REMORSE.
I want to resolve this case ASAP and I'm more than happy to give her a full refund but I don't see that option. What happens if I click 'I will accept liability for this transaction' ?

I told her that I would give her a refund if she just closed the case as I don't see the option to refund and I really don't want to assume liability. She said she closed it but until now I still haven't received an email from paypal and I still see the case as open.

Hi there! 🙂
By clicking on 'I will accept liability for this transaction' it basically means you authorise the funds to go back to the buyer 🙂

Would I be charged a chargeback fee? Does it get recorded on my account? I really feel like by clicking that I'm assuming liability for something that isn't even my fault.

Hi loveandfashion,
Chargeback fees are charged when a chargeback is filed against a transaction. A chargeback is when a buyer contacts their card company and advises them that the payment is unauthorised.
Please be advised that there are different types of unauthorised claims. If you have been advised that a chargeback has been filed against you then you will have to pay a chargeback fee. If you have been advised that we are investigating an unauthorised transaction then there would be no fee.
I hope this helps
Paula
