HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them! Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

instead of BLAMING paypal - thank the real scam sellers that caused this to go into effect in the first place.
THis hold policy is not 'new' - it has been around for some time now and if you were not aware of it then you did NOT READ the policy did you or you would have known about the hold.

A random thought
PayPal should have a separate hold policy for the US based sellers & buyers. It's a society based on credit worthiness and trust unlike most other foreign countries around the world.

An interesting idea, however, most sellers are also buyers.
It's been my experience that very few people bother to learn the rules when they buy or sell - having 2 sets of rules could be disastrous - they'd never be able to figure out which rule applied.

- You have limited history or selling activity with eBay and PayPal
- No, I've been selling since 1999.
- You have an eBay feedback score of less than 100 or received fewer than 20 Detailed Seller Ratings in the last 12 months, and do not have a record of good performance.
- In the 11 years since I've been on ebay, I've received a negative as a seller ONCE. It was unfair, and I believed I had the option of disputing it. If I'd only known...
- If you have low Detailed Seller Ratings or other indication of below standard performance on eBay.
- Other than the one vindictive buyer's remorse case that I made the mistake of disputing my record has been quite perfect.
- You have a high rate of customer disputes, claims or chargebacks.
- One. In ELEVEN YEARS. Only ONE dispute. It was unfair and innacurate, but they still sided with the buyer, and now this?
- You're selling in a high risk category or industry such as, but not limited to, tickets, travel, gift certificates, computers, consumer electronics, or cell phones
- None of these things.
- Your payment activity is inconsistent. For example, you have a spike in selling activity or you started selling in a new category without an established history in that category.
Nope. - The account information you have provided is incomplete or inaccurate.
- Nope. The last time I moved was in 2005. I've been at this address for five years, and plan to be here forever. All my info is up to date and my account is used often; constantly, even, without any issues.
