yes and i wasnt even a newbie! I've been on ebay for years with great feedback; they didn't care they only protect buyer and... get this... sellers can't even leave any neg  fb for buyers but buyers can even if they win the dispute!   I sell luxury handbags does amazon deal with that? sure, buyer complained not as described although i explicitly described the bag as used and worn. I usually sell excellent condition or new handbags so I was sure to explain this was different from wht  I usually sell. buyer rec'd item and said not what she expected, i didnt describe correctly.  She wantd to keep the bag and have issue her a partial return so she could fix what she thought needed repair. She complained of holes, they were not hold it was worn material. She didn't complain of stains or anything else. before i issued the partial refund (of $200) she changed her mind and requested a full refund. This was all taking so long back and forth that i agreed and figured I"d just get it back and re-list it. Well she returned it in horrible condition! it smelled of smoke, the shipping box smelled of smoke and there were new stains! there was no way I could re-list that bag in that condition! without getting my side of the story at all ebay issued her a full refund and is coming after me for it now $400 and no bag to sell. they offered me 200 to repair it so i could sell it and I told them  I would bring it in to a Louis Vuitton boutique and they will give me a letter stating the bag cannot be repaired, with that letter ebay said I won't be liable. so this is the mess I'm dealing with. Waiting for the letter now from LV. In meantime have other things to sell but do not trust ebay anymore. sellers are not protected at all. ... View more

me too!  horrible! had a fraudulet buyer, ebay gave her refund where not warranted and now coming after me for the money! no seller protection at all. Looking for different online auction, know of any others that are good?I heard of bonanzle any experience with this? ... View more

Hi thanks for your advice.  They decided in favor of the buyer, incredible, without even giving me the oppty to produce evidence or plead my case. However I did a lot of research on ebay and filed an appeal. They already gave the buyer a full refund of $400 and are looking to me to reimburse them that $400. The best I was able to get was a reduction of the reimburement to $200 so I can take the bag to be repaired and re- list it. Ebay also said if the bag cannot be repaired I am not responsible to reimburse them for anything that they would "eat it and it's part of online commerce". So I did bring the bag into a Louis Vuitton store today, they said there is no way it can be repaired (I knew that!) but they have to go thru corporate to get me a letter and it would take 4-6 weeks. I spoke with ebay again and they are willing to wait for the letter. so we will see, at least they are trying to work with me but with ebay SELLERS BEWARE! READ THE NEW EBAY PROTECTION POLICY BECAUSE IT DOES NOT PROTECT THE SELLER AT ALL. IN FACT SELLERS CAN NO LONGER LEAVE NEG FB FOR BUYERS; ONLY AN UPAID ITEM STRIKE , THATS IT!  Buyers can do whatever they want and even leave fb during a dipute! ... View more

yes got it, thanks. however i already reported the terrible condition of the bag to ebay, does that have to be consistent if paypal gets involoved? and does paypal get involved because in reading the buyer protection plan on ebay they make the final decision on who wins the case. If they decide in favor of the buyer ebay refunds the buyer and goes after the seller for the money; even using a collection agency if necessary. Do they also get paypal involved? and I assume the buyer can also go directly to papal......what a headached, I'm so furious I don't think i will ever sell on ebay again.  the forums all complain about how slanted this new "protection" policy is toward dishonest buyers. I don't even care about the neg fb at this point i just can't give up$ 400 at this point! thanks for your reply ... View more

the ebay buyer first claimed item not as described and asked for partial refund to "repair it". I didn't agree, i fully explained the item however to save time I agreed to partial refund. then she requested a full refund and would send the bag back, again I agreed figuring I would just re-list it. I rec'd the bag yesterday and was Horrified! It was in terrible condition nothing like how i shipped it! I reported a dispute with seller to ebay but on every message they urge me to offer a refund! I would lose the money plus I can't re-list this handbag in the condition its in. I am afraid it's totally up to ebay and payapal, can they take back my money? And the fb is all slanted toward buyer now too. NO protection for sellers now only buyers and many dishonest buyers out there. ... View more
