Cancelling a recurring payment

I want to cancel a recurring payment for a yearly subscription. I followed the the instruction but the account now shows the original entry which has a status of indefinite plus a secound one which now says cancelled. Is the original one now cancelled or not?

Both should show cancelled next to them.
If you are unsure send us an email authorising us to cancel the reocurring payment on your behalf, include the merchant name. You can do this by clicking on 'Contact Us' at the bottom of your PayPal account.

Here’s how to view the status of your subscriptions:
- Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
- Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
- Select ‘My money’.
- In the ‘My pre-approved payments’ section, click ‘Update’.
You can view the status of your subscription under ‘Status’.

Hi i am trying to cancel a recurring payment and have followed the procedure of my money then update but how do you cancel from there ? ... thanks .. Jake

Hey there jakefox24,
Welcome to the community.
After you go to the “my money” section in your profile tab click on “update” in the ‘My pre-approved payments’ section.
Then Select the merchant whose agreement you want to cancel and click ‘Cancel’.
Once you have done that click ‘Cancel Profile’ to confirm your request.

Hi dantro77,
I understand from your post that you wish to cancel a recurring payment agreement. Please follow the steps below.
- Log in to your PayPal account at www.paypal.co.uk
- Click 'Profile' near the top of the page.
- Select 'My selling preferences' on the left side of the page.
- In the 'Getting paid and managing risk' section, click 'Update' beside 'My automatic payments'.
