Me too. Ordered on 29th October 2021 for £309.99. Letter I received states I should try to issue a chargeback.

Hello @Roboboy1 and @Gazman00

Welcome to PayPal's Community Forum! I'm sorry to hear you didn't end up receiving the item you purchased. I can understand this must be a bit frustrating. PayPal's Purchase Protection normally extends up to 180 days from the purchase date. Since it sounds like it's outside our range, I'd recommend reaching out to your card company or bank to see what options you may have available.

Best wishes!

Unfortunately Jon, my bank is also powerless to do anything as it's through PayPal and also too old from their point of view. With no side taking support for us consumers.

Just seems like a huge loophole that companies can potentially exploit when using PayPal as a means of payment for a pre-order. The only way to get some figures most of the time is through pre-orders, which can be charged immediately. However they take time to manufacture, and delivery dates can then be delayed which unavoidably exceed PayPal's 180 days timeframe.

So through no fault of our own, once that happens we're no longer protected.

It's seriously made me reconsider using PayPal for any major pre-paid purchases in future.
