Does anyone get results from PP when reporting an issue? I'm trying to find out if the email I got from PP is legit or fraudulent re a large $ charge that isn't mine. The email said the purchase looked fraudulent ($800 Egift card) but I should call before the charge went through that day. The wordage in the email was choppy and the 'sent by' was a name with an [removed] email address. My inquiries on the 'Assistant' that PP provides was dropped with no response. Have no choice but to close my PP account.

Hello @smh23,
Welcome to the PayPal Community!
I'm sorry to hear about the email you've received. I know how concerned I would feel in your shoes. Based on your provided information, I can confirm the email was not from PayPal. You can learn how to determine if an email is from PayPal on our Help Center here: How do I spot and report a fake, fraudulent, spoof, or phishing emails? If you had clicked on any links within the email, please reset your password and security questions right away. It would also be a good idea to run a virus and malware scan on your device.
I hope this helps!

By your description of the email, it’s not an official PayPal email. Do not call the phone number as you’ll be talking to the scammer. PayPal does not use iCloud to email you. If you did not see an actual transaction that correlates to what the email said, it’s fake. Scammers send out spoof emails to frighten you into calling the phone number to scam you.
Here is a couple of links about security tips and what common scams you will com across:
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

I tried every avenue available on the PP website to get someone to say this. On the 'chat' with a PP Assistant... there was no response. No other options unless your issue was one of the situations they posed. We give companies our business and they give us no customer service in return.
