Hi everyone,
So yesterday I wanted to purchase a product from eBay and sent the money to the seller's PayPal email as Goods or Services, not a friend option.
Later on, I have received an email from eBay which says;
"We have restricted the user account of the provider you were in contact with. We assume that the user account was misused by a third party. Without the actual account owner's knowledge, either their existing ads were altered, new ads were placed, or messages were sent on their behalf.
Please consider carefully whether you want to continue trading with this provider."
I immediately opened a task on PayPal since there was no option as the fraud I have chosen unauthorized activity and then noticed that the payment shows as refunded. I don't know if it was refunded because of the task or the seller did but I have received an update from PayPal that they have determined there was no unauthorized activity.
That's why I'm kinda confused that if I will get the money back.

Thank you for your post. I'm sorry to hear that the merchant account was hacked. In order to to get the refund you should have selected option Item not received and filed dispute, since you have made the payment and you selected the Unauthorized transaction to file dispute the dispute will be resolved in favor of merchant. You are seeing the status on Ebay as refunded then you don't have to file dispute as refund will automatically be added to same mode of payment that was used. If you do not receive refund then you can contact our support team and open a new dispute with the correct options.

Hi Jonny,
I was so panicked at that time and couldn't think wisely cause the amount was really high and saw the refunded status after creating the dispute.
Anyways thank god I received the money back, everything is fine now.
