Phone number changed - can't log in

My mobile number changed a few years ago but I never updated my profile. 

Now I can't log in as Paypal wants to send me a text on the old number to verify the account.

I've tried logging in from a different browser which doesn't work.

Also tried using the Help Chat system, but this also requires me to log in to proceed.

Tried ringing the help support number but spent ages going round and round in circles with the automated options, could not get to a point of speaking to an actual person.

Funny thing is, when I selected 'Ask the Community' to access this forum, it allowed me to log in to create this profile to do this!

Really stuck as to how to resolve. Would really appreciate if anyone can offer some help with this please?

Can’t log into my pay pal properly as it needs verifying by my number and it’s my old number can’t even log in without it asking for verification also won’t let me call or text pay pal to sort it out

Hey there.
A friend of mine sent me some cash and I've been trying to get access to it. I've not used paypal in quite a while so I had to reset my password, which went just fine. After that I've tried to login a few dozen times and every time I get "we're sorry, we couldn't confirm it's you." I've read that it might be because the phone number I've got registered is no longer in service. Problem is that I now can't get into the account to change the number, and every suggestion I've read just tells me to login and change the number, despite the fact that not being able to login is the problem.

Hi! I forgot my my PayPal password and the only way I can verify my PayPal account to change my password is through my email with I can still use. I have my old phone number registered but its been deactivated I have a new one right now. Ive tried resetting so many times already that my account has been locked. what can I do?

I made my paypal account last year when I was in college in US .

I tried to log in to that account this morning and I forgot my password.

To find password , I need verification number that I used when I registered account.

But unfortunately, I'm in korea currently because of the pandemic.

So I'm not using the number that I used to register the account now since I'm in korea.

Is there anyway that I can find my password without the verification of the number that I registered?
For additional info, I tried to add my korean number (national number 82) to add number, but it was impossible to add one.

please let me know if you need an additional info.

Hi all, I'm trying to log in. Email fine, password fine - problem is a new feature that calls my phone. It is an old phone number so I can't get the code so can't log in and update my number - catch 22. Is there  a way to resolve this or is there a phone number for customer services

Try:
1. Downloading the app to see if it will let you in to change / update it in the settings.
2. Log on via developer.paypal.com, go to paypal.com and change it in settings.
3. Use the forgotten password option several times.
4. Trying another browser that may let you in without phone verification (then change it when you have logged in).
5. Trying again another day when sometimes you can get in without doing the verification and then change the number.
6. Changing the password a few times sometimes works as it can bypass the phone verification.
7. Try clicking on P top of the forum page and see if you can log in via the forum.

If that does not work then you would need to contact customer services so that they can i.d. you another way and then add your new phone number to your account.


Contact options for Paypal are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages...

1. Paypal phones are slowly re-opening and increasing in numbers (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out.

4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?

I'm at a complete loss on how to access my paypal account.

I lost my job, unable to pay for a mobile plan, and no longer have a valid mobile number.

Am I no longer able to use Paypal because I do not have a mobile phone?

I have a G-voice number, but it won't accept the number.
