PayPal Scam Call

Hi everyone, I just received a call from PayPal asking if I had made a transaction with someone in America. I was very confused and said no. They then mentioned that someone was using my account because there were multiple IP locations(?) Their tone sounded urgent and forceful, and they kept asking me to give them the verification number so they could help me cancel the transaction. I immediately hung up the call. The phone number wasn’t hidden either. Is this a scam?

I'm from Australia by the way, I'm not sure if that helps.

I'm nearly 100% sure it is. The verification number they are asking for is the code sent to you to access your account, if you had gone along with them you would have been hacked.

Just keep an eye on your paypal account and maybe change your password?

You could also ring the proper customer services to check as per link?
