Phone number changed - can't log in

My mobile number changed a few years ago but I never updated my profile. 

Now I can't log in as Paypal wants to send me a text on the old number to verify the account.

I've tried logging in from a different browser which doesn't work.

Also tried using the Help Chat system, but this also requires me to log in to proceed.

Tried ringing the help support number but spent ages going round and round in circles with the automated options, could not get to a point of speaking to an actual person.

Funny thing is, when I selected 'Ask the Community' to access this forum, it allowed me to log in to create this profile to do this!

Really stuck as to how to resolve. Would really appreciate if anyone can offer some help with this please?

Hello, 

 

I made this account because I couldn't get into my old one and needed help. 

It says my password is incorrect, but the only option it gives me is by sending a text. (none of the other options mentioned in the help seciton appear)

This would be fine as the number I have input is correct, but the message does not come through. 

What can I do?

I’ve been locked out of my business account. Will not let me in at all. Cannot even reset password. Will have to call them as last resort.

I have been trying to reach them via fb, but I am forever on hold at the "I've placed your message into the queue and an agent will respond back as soon as possible!" stage

Hi, my phone number changed long time ago and now I cant login as paypal want to wend me a code to the old number which dosent exist. Any idea what to do? Regards

Try:
1. Downloading the app to see if it will let you in to change / update it in the settings.
2. Log on via developer.paypal.com, go to paypal.com and change it in settings.
3. Use the forgotten password option several times.
4. Trying another browser that may let you in without phone verification (then change it when you have logged in).
5. Trying again another day when sometimes you can get in without doing the verification and then change the number.
6. Changing the password a few times sometimes works as it can bypass the phone verification.
7. Try clicking on P top of the forum page and see if you can log in via the forum.

If that does not work then you would need to contact customer services so that they can i.d. you another way and then add your new phone number to your account.

Contact options for Paypal are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages...

1. Paypal phones are slowly re-opening and increasing in numbers (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out.
Or
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a personal message from their Facebook or Twitter pages.

Hi - bit of a problem! I'm getting the PSD2 security checks whenever I try to log in to both the app and on a browser. However I no longer have the phone associated with that account anymore, so can't verify its me. I can't find a contact number for customer services anywhere, and if I choose 'message us' it prompts me to log in. Which I can't. Help please!

I have 2 PayPal accounts under 2 different emails, one is newer with my latest phone number and is the one I use normally. My old one was created along time ago and is connected to my old landline phone number, I can’t access that number anymore. I signed up for a streaming service subscription so I could use the free trial to watch a film but I accidentally used my old account. I need to login to the account but when I try to it says I have to verify the account with an automated call and me typing the 4 digit code. I cannot reset the phone number so how to I get onto the account? Thanks

I cant get in my PayPal account, because you're constantly asking me for a verification number to be sent to my number that's no longer working even though I enter all correct email & password, I've even changed my password via email reset and still cant get into update my new phone number, it's so annoying, you're locking me out of my own account which has my private bank details, which means I will have to tell my bank now to block PayPal access. As I dont have credit to ring you right now and you offer no email or chat access UNLESS IN ACCOUNT 🤬 Yet you still make buying anything on the web available through just entering my email & password!! And it's fine we talk here. You ignore in facebook. How am I suppose to update phone or access my summary if you're this awkward
