From Now On I Am Not Going To Ship Items If Funds Are On Hold.

Because the shipping costs are included in the funds.  If I have no access to the funds cause of the hold, then I have no access to the money the buyer pays for shipping.

Exactly  , this is CRAZY PAYPAL holding our money!

The shipping comes out of pocket. I don't understand this at all, I was OK with having to pay Fee's to both Paypal & Ebay, but I think we should be using craigslist or something better out there???? I bet they are getting interest on it while it sits up to 21 days or more. When I buy something I want the money to go to the seller that's how it works.  I called in and also complained, we all should do that or get together for some class action.....

I have found an alternative site for selling. I posted my first 2 items and they both sold within 24 hours and you can use Google checkout.  Ioffer.com is great for selling very popular items and they sell fast. If I can sell enough on this site I will say goodbye to Paypal and Ebay forever. Paypal is holding every single payment that I have received. I have practically begged my customers to leave feedback after receiving their purchase and they ignore me. Now I am worried about  after asking them so many times to please leave feedback they will be annoyed with me and leave bad feedback just for asking them so many times. Paypal and Ebay stink!!! So much for having any extra money for Christmas shopping for my children because Christmas will be over by the time I get my money from Paypal at this rate!!!!!!

This is the craziest thing I have ever seen.  Not only does it not make any sense, they never communicated this change that I was aware of.  I have 100% positive rating for several years and I am now at the mercy of "DelayPal" to get paid.

I will not use them anymore unless this gets changed.  The seller takes on all the risk in this arrangement.

Gumby,  I also have had 100% feedback for the last almost 3 years. Have u read my post that they sent me an email stating that the hold on my funds would be no longer because of my positive activity recently. When I went to my papal account the only thing that had changed was the time frame from 21 days to just a hold for 11 days. Wild

Is this new, with the funds being put on hold? I have never had this happen before and now I have two payments on hold and am hesitant to ship. I dont mind paying the shipping costs up front but what if the buyer is bogus? One of them in unverified. Any suggestions?

We are all taking a chance with Paypal. I have about $300. on hold, packages have been mailed, some packages have been delivered but the buyers have ignored my requests for them to leave feedback for me so my money is just sitting with Paypal and earning interest for them. I know several people that have several thousands of dollars being held by Paypal. The buyers have their very expensive purchases shipped to them, Paypal makes a ton of money daily in interest and the sellers suffer by all of their greed. Paypal should at the very least release money so we can pay for shipping cost. This year Paypal gets the new name as the Grinch. So much for Christmas shopping.

I was researching this today because I also am having trouble with shipping items with all the money for shipping on hold in PayPal.  Your response caught my attention when you said about unverified customers and unverified addresses.  Has anyone else noticed that PayPal does not hold funds received from unverified addresses or customers???????      I saw that 26.80 was released from hold on my account  after only 1 week, and thought that we were making some progress with the postings . . . . . .   However further research found that I had 2 customers that made payments but were not verified, so these must not be PayPal  accountholders.  So lets all keep our fingers crossed that most of our sales are to non PayPal customers ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !    Anyone else have the same thing??????

I have read all 11 pages of this topic. Several people have discussed accepting checks or money orders. I would love to still accept both but the category I sell in (as is true for most categories), checks and money orders are not accepted. (http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/accepted-payments-policy.html)  My listings were not accepted for post until I took out the words "check or money orders".

Does anyone have any experience with the other accepted forms of payment: ProPay, Moneybookers, or Paymate? I am going to check them out but would love to hear someone else's experiences.

I agree that the policy is not fair. I think ebay/paypal is getting worse and worse for the seller. I started selling because DH lost his job. I had someone tell me that they did not receive their package. According to the PO tracking, they did receive their package. I know the PO could make mistakes and I was fixing to return the money until the buyer said "every time this happens, I get my money back or get another item for free". Every time this happens? That sent up a red flag. I've never had it happen, buying or selling in the years I've been on ebay. Either she has a dishonest neighbor stealing her packages or she is dishonest. Needless to say, when I wouldn't return her money, she left negative feedback.  I paid the extra amount to have tracking and I had proof that it was delivered in the confirmation number. I called ebay and I was assured that the negative feedback would be removed because I had the tracking info and proof of arrival. Days went by and it wasn't removed. I emailed them and asked why and received a very rude response from ebay stating that she was entitled to her opinion and they would not remove it unless they received a court order requiring them to do so. I was told PO confirmation was not "legal proof of receipt". Hello? If I had the money to hire an attorney over something so minor, would I being selling my belongings on ebay? OK. Why do we buy delivery confirmation if it isn't proof?

Sorry, that was off original topic but it still chaps me that I no longer have 100% because of this person who most likely is a scammer. This is just another example of ebay/paypal getting too big and  not really looking out for the seller and in some cases the buyer. I am looking for alternatives and will look at this loffer.com that someone else mentioned. I haven't had great luck with Craig's list and since I really need the money, I will have to continue with ebay/paypal until I find a good alternative.

Thanks for all of your comments and the possible alternatives.
