Where is the Message Centre?

I've been sent an email by PayPal telling me to look in the Message Centre for a message from them. But there's no sign of the links I'm told to look for. This is what I was told to do:

  1. Log in to your PayPal account.
  2. Under 'More about your account', click Message Centre.
  3. Click on the message you wish to view.

Trouble is, there's no link called 'More about your account'.  I've rung customer help and they can't tell me where to look.  I'm logging in to the business account.

Anyone know where it might be?

The message centre doesn't work, I got an email and it said go to the message centre. But there iS no message centre. I tried everything explained here in this topic, my notifications is greyed out, with "you don't have any"???

Ever since PayPal changed to this new style, it's all gone downhill since there. Everything is all sick and "app"y

and broken

You obviously haven't had this problem.

It appears from the thread above that there is a system problem between the old and new versions.

I have had a couple of emails saying that there were messages in my message centre. The email says go to notifications and click on Message centre.  on my login, the notifications icon doesn;t have a message centre option,

I contacted Paypal, after a protracted argument with their call handling system, I finally spoke to a real person who said she would look into it,

I have now just recieved an email saying there was a message in my message centre.  Great as I still can't get to the message centre to find it.

Seems this problem is still ongoing. I got the same message in response to a request for help. "We’ve sent a message to your Message Centre in your PayPal account.".

I'm using a computer, not a mobile. The link included in the email just takes me to my account summary page. The instructions for for finding the message centre don't work. After reading this thread I clicked on the bell icon. "You don’t have any notifications." And no links to the message centre. I guess my account doesn't have one.

There seem to be so many different versions of the account interface that even PayPal can't help anyone.

PayPal have completely lost control of their own system.

So I finally found the message that PayPal sent me, after many hours of work. The message was in my personal PayPal account, not the account that I sent my enquiry from. And the only way to get to it was to log out of my business account, login to my personal account, then click on the link in the notification email. My personal account has a totally different user interface from my business account, but I am 100% sure there is no way to get to the Message Centre from within the account itself.

The message did relate to my business-critical enquiry. The staff member who responded wanted to be helpful, but clearly had no way to know which of my PayPal accounts had sent the enquiry. He wants to check my account, but first he needs to clarify which account I am talking about since my personal account has had very little activity lately. So it's clear that he doesn't know which account sent the enquiry. But there is no way to reply to the message. The message suggests that I respond by sending a message via the contact page in my account. In other words go through the whole broken process from the beginning.

I can understand the logic behind having a Message Centre, but it needs to be accessible, and there needs to be a way to hold a conversation with PayPal until an issue is resolved. Otherwise it's just pointless.

PayPal is becoming more and more of a mess as time goes on. I can understand that PayPal is big, and there are going to be some difficulties and frustrations, but right now PayPal is killing my small business that I have worked so hard to build. I have great products that my customers want to buy, but they can't.

It's obvious where I need to direct my energy today.

You have answered a question that has been bugging me for months, and has defeated the "brains" at PayPal.  We have two paypal accounts here, the bosses personal and the business one.  We have been trying to contact PayPal from our main email address, but this is the email linked to the personal account so the replies have been going there not to the address where the issue has been raised.  Now I've got to sort out a way round with MS Outlook, which is another inflexible monster to deal with!!

Thanks so much for taking the time to report your findings it has answered our question!!!

Happy Christmas

After looking for the message centre for ages I change my search to say "on Paypal app". And tucked in amongst info to get into the message centre it read, hope to update the app to receive the message centre shortly.  I went into Paypal via the browser and found it immediately.

This really is ridiculous.  I just read this whole thread and am going through the same thing.  I stupidly changed my account to a business account, and now cannot get the message center anywhere.

I agree i have spent hours trying to find a way to get to a message that paypal sent me. I use a business account and have no personal account and have been thru everfything on paypal(no how to get there in help!) and in several threads. Think i need to change to bitcoin. i got scammed and paypal did an almost non-existant job of sorting that out also.

Question? Are you accessing PayPal through a mobile app? If so, I was having the exact same problem. The solution is to NOT access your account through the app. You need to actually log into the site. (You can still use your phone, just make sure you go through a browser). After you've logged in, click on "My Account" in the upper, right hand corner. After you've done that, you should see what looks like a bell in the next upper right hand corner. Click on that, then you'll see the message center. Hope that helps. Good luck!
