Scam Email regarding payment to Skype Inc

Paypal users please beware of a scam Email regarding payments to Skype Inc.  I have just received an Email supposedly from Paypal regarding payment for 3 months subscriptin to Skype Inc.  The Email states that if you have not authorised this payment then please click on "cancel payment" button.

Please ignore this Email as I do not believe this is from Paypal as it does not state my name, ebay membership or Email address as the recipient - it simply welcomes the Paypal Client.

Also when I clicked on cancel payment it redirected me to another site which I immediately closed without entering any personal details.

Thanks Pam

I have just received an email from Skype saying that I have sent a payment of 69.99 via Paypal. I can not see the transaction on my Paypal account, but how do I stop them tempting to take any money. I don't even use Skype!

Hi, I'm new on here, but just wanted to say that I received another email from these people today, so they are still working at it.    I am a pensioner, and it scared me when I realised what had been happening over the last three weeks - one email each week.   These people are bullies.   The tone of their emails is quite threatening.

I received a copy late last night and  have forwarded to PayPal 'email scam' team. I know its not a transaction I have made so definitely a scam. Has anyone actually spoken to Skype to see what their views are?

Hiya, I also got an email claiming to be from paypal stating that they were freezing my account as it appeared someone had hacked into my account and I had to follow a link to re activate it. Been on account and all appears to be ok so I assume it was a scam as well. I did notice that it wasn't like the usual paypal emails so was a bit suspicious but it did worry me and has reassured me when I have read that other people have got similar emails and it is a scam

I had an email this morning which came via my spam in my inbox, stating that my paypal account had been suspended and they needed to verify my details. It threw up the paypal log in page, but I just wasn't sure as the email address was different to the normal email address I get from ebay. I then went onto the ebay site and logged into my paypal account that way and everything seemed fine, so i am assuming this was yet another scam to get peoples details. This incidentally, is the second email of this type I have had in 2 months - getting a bit sick of it now, as I almost followed the link and logged in!
