I have been using my Paypal Access card with no problems since i got it April 2011, but for last 2 days i have tried to draw cash out of lloyds and natwest cashpoints (which i have used before with no problems) and am being told this service is unavailable with this card. The money is in my account and i can still use it at shops but why can i no longer use it at cashpoints ?

Absolutely fed up with Paypal Access. I have made 3 purchases with it over the last 3 days. Each one was marked 'declined' (in spite of there being money in the account), so I paid using another card, only to find my Paypal account had been debited. Had to make expensive 0845 calls to get each matter sorted out, and the person on the help-desk (when I finally got through) could give me no undertaking that either the problem was being fixed or that it would not happen again. So, now I shall have to revert to paying my Paypal earnings through my bank, and having to wait 3-4 days before I can spend money that is mine. Nice one, Paypal Access, can I have my phone charges back?!

I had exactly the same problem today, i tried to draw out £100.00 from the atm (plenty of cash in the account) and i got a message saying it had been refused. I went back home and checked the computer and lo and behold there's a £100.00 gone from my account. I contacted paypal card and they said it was an atm problem but they would have to leave it 24 hrs before the could do anything about it, as it's the jubilee weekend that means nothing can be done until Wednesday now.:(

Just had same problem plenty money in my account atms stating either cannot contact financial institution or bank declined
on holiday for jubliee weekend really in trouble!!

I've been using my card with no problems since October, but all of a sudden its stopped working - have had 5 transactions declined in 2 days, and tried 4 cash machines, none of which would let me withdraw money. Checked paypal account and the money hasn't actually come out of the account like with some people, and there are enough funds there, but just keeps being declined.

We stopped using our access card several months ago because of all of the problems it was causing. I don't have the time to sit on the phone for hours trying to sort out these problems.
There does seem to be a pattern emerging here though, with this and the faster withdrawals. Its actually making me worried that Paypal may be having financial problems. Have you noticed that there are no comments from Paypal themselves.
I am now making a normal withdrawal daily and leaving £0 in my account no matter how small the amount.
I think that everyone just needs to be very careful.

So, this is getting serious, this card started having little quirks which I'm not too worried about because when it takes a second payment it usually goes back on within the hour.
Yesterday morning it was declined and then I decided to take money out of the cashpoint to get us through the rest of the Jubilee weekend, I have no backup funding available because I run my business through paypal, went to withdraw £200, transaction declined except that Paypal took the £200 and this morning it's still not been refunded, we're fast running out of money, the bank holiday plans are pretty much ruined and there's no customer service available!!
From what I've managed to search online it seems like a major fault affecting pretty much everyone with a PayPal Access Card but it's difficult to know what to do without some official advisement.

Have had same problem.
Card seems to work at santender card machines. It worked for us and has saved our long weekend.

For any PayPal access card issues please contact PayPal access card team directly. If you are seeing declined payments were the funds have been taken you should give them a call and they should be able to sort it for you.
