Hi All you PayPal user's,Why arn't you complaing to your Authorities?I have just been told by the EU,Europa.eu that its possible PayPal is operating a UNFAIR TRADING Practice? The new legislation outlines "Sharp Pratices" which will be prohibited throughout the EU.such as Misleading and Aggressive marketing.Misleading action.A commercial practice is unfair if it is a "Misleading Action" which Regulation 5 defines as "Containing False Information" or its overall presentation in any way deceives,or is likely to deceive, the average consumer".So PayPal is Deceiving its users by telling them they must be Verified?PayPal State,Verification is Not a Rrequirement?I would refer to the PayPal Verification Process-FAQ. Is Verification a REQUIREMENT? PayPal Answere:NO,but it's generally a good idea as it will enhance your reputation. So Why is PayPal Bullying All its users into becoming Verified?

PayPal fails so hard. This account is just used for some one time things, nothing big. I used MoneyPak the first time about 2 months ago and it worked out perfectly. Today, I bought a new MoneyPak and loaded up the money. I tried to purchase the item on the online-store and it tells me I'm denied. Oh that's freaking great PayPal.
TAKING MY 45 DOLLARS IN A SNAP OF YOUR FINGERS. REAL SMOOTH PAYPAL. THIS ONLY REASON I WOULD CONTINUE TO GO ON PAYPAL IS TO GET MY FREAKING MONEY BACK.

I just did get verified and I regret it.  Paypal practices are bordering on unethical.  I recently added my bank account to get verified.  Little did I know my Paypal account payment preference would be changed without my knowledge and defaulted to my bank account.  This is a deceptive practice.

When I called to complain that a recent transaction was debited out of my bank account and not my credit card I was told it was my fault for not checking the proper account.  My response was I had not reset my preferences nor had I been asked.  I just thought getting verify would change my status not reset my preferences in my account.  As a result, I had rush to my bank to transfer funds to cover the cost.  The customer service reps and managers were of no help and had an arrogant attitude to boot..

Thought I would try using Moneybookers -  all they wanted was my credit card number and a response to a text message---  until I used them once.  They approved the transaction for over $600 -   and then they froze my account.  It seems THEY wanted  the photo page from my PASSPORT  (or driving license, front and back) AND a utility bill!!!

If I'm not giving out my bank details I am certainly not giving people my PASSPORT info!  Are they trying to fight money-laundering or promote it?!

I guess I"m beat.  When Paypal cuts me off my husband still has money in his sending limit -  and once we exhaust that I guess we will just have to stop using ebay.  What a world!

Thanks for your reply. I got so sick last night from stress, I caved in. I will watch like a hawk though. I hope it works out for you and your husband.

I don't think any of usdeserve this.  They have gotten so big, they just don't care.

+1, had my paypal account for years. Ebay stopped me selling baby clothes because i reached "my selling limit", ive sold 8 things in 6 months!!!! What the **bleep**. Now the only way to lift the selling limit is to verify my account. No i will not link my bank account, i did that once and paypal took out 1000s from it and then frooze my account for 6 months during which time i did not have access to it. Any main street bank that did this would be investigated by the FBI  by now! The only other way to get "verified" is to get a credit card. im not messing up my FICO score to get  a paypal credit card. This is disgusting ive been a 100% feedback ebay memeber and paypal member for years! since Jan 2007. Nothing but great feedback and happy customers. What are the alternatives to ebay and paypal? Im going to hit up craiglist now, im fed up of this nonsense.

While researching this horrible situation, I came across a suggestion about setting up an account at an online banking site called NetSpend. It seems it would be possible to set up an account there for the purpose of getting verified. I don't plan on taking any action until I get closer to my limit, but I'd like to hear from anyone who can try it out and make it work. I can't believe PayPal is pulling the rug out from under us like this.

I see all this rage against PayPal, mostly against PayPal only and it makes me wonder...

Everybody here knows eBay owns PayPal since 2002, right? It's all in the PayPal "About Us" page.

Maybe you're all barking up the wrong tree. (I would've said "we're" except I haven't barked publicly at PayPal here on the Forum yet. Though I agree with every bark, oh, and growl, I've read here.)

So, I would think PayPal is just eBay's hired gun. Got to go take some swings at the trunk. Just snipping the branches will only make the tree stronger. I wrote a long winded complaint addressed to PayPal via e-mail this last weekend. I will be forwarding the e-mail to eBay. Got to start somewhere and it can't stay only here at the forum.

Oh, and none of us can do it alone!

I recently hit the $10,000 limit with Paypal and they will not budge on their policy.   I have been transacting business without the use of Paypal and only a few sellers and buyers will not work around Paypal's ignorant, self depricating policy.

I will not open a bank account just for Paypal and I do not give third parties access to funds that I have not approved in advance.   To do so is asking for financial ruin.

How foolish of Paypal!   They get a good cut of the action anyway, to run off customers who have processed $10,000 worth of  business through their company with 100% satisfaction rating, is just plain stupid.    I cannot say it any other way.

Paypal policy is STUPID, IGNORANT, INCONSIDERATE, UNETHICAL, AND CRASS.     Maybe, one day, when competition arises and cooks their goose, they will change their policy.     Or, maybe, a good number of lawsuites would wake the sleeping sloth.   I dunno........
