Hey there, Basically a few weeks ago I sold my assets to a buyer online. He reported it as Unauthorized to try and take his money back/scam me, but PayPal found out he was lying by checking his IP or something.    However, today he makes the SAME Unauthorized claim, but with his bank - and it instantly gets approved without me having ANY say. So I lose $772 without even going through a case. It even states that once cases are closed, they can't be re-opened.   What should I do? ... View more

Randomly charged $82.30 and now negative.

Earlier today I had a balance of +$3.60ish Canadian and have NOT TOUCHED my account since, however  I get back home today and my balance is -$82.30. There is no trace of the reasoning behind this on my activity log, and the only thing I can find is a "Bank Account Failed to link" email and a "Notification of balance transfer".   What do I do?   Notification of balance transfer email: PayPal has made a transfer between the balances in your account due to the following reason: Our policy of converting negative to positive balances. I think that option is view able on the buyers side?   Anyways, I'm wondering if he is NOT successful with the chargeback, and I get all my money back, is he able to open it again? Thanks for the response! A little bit of an update, the scammer decided to report it as "Unauthorized" and I've went into negative balance. However I can see that the case still says "Under PayPal Review". Does this mean I still have a chance of getting my money back?   Also how do Unauthorized claims work? Like he can just say he didn't do it, and get's his money back? Or is there like an IP check or someway to validate it.   Thanks,  Riley ... View more

Long story short, I loaned someone $500 USD and it never got paid back. He dragged me on for months but I've had enough and just wanted my money back. We agreed to a refund via chargeback.
