Hi Becca, sorry for the late response.   Good to know it's happening to others and not just me... but still NOT good that it's happening in general. I tried your method of adding my debit card and using that to transfer my balance to my bank, and I'm glad to say it worked! Sorry it didn't work for you though, so I hope you've managed to sort it out by now.   Hope PayPal fixes whatever is causing the bank to refuse the transfer.   Thanks again for a working solution! ... Refused - Instant Transfer to Bank

Today, my friend transferred some money into my PayPal account, as he has done several times before. I then initiated a transfer from my PayPal Balance to my bank, which is also something I have done several times before, and each time the transfer has been instant and without problem.   THIS TIME however, as soon as I initiated the transfer, I was told something went wrong. I tried a few more times and received the same error. I was using the PayPal app on my phone, so I tried the PayPal website on my PC instead. Same problem. I kept getting emails from PayPal saying that my BANK refused the transfer, even though there is nothing wrong with my bank account associated with PayPal.   On top of that, not only did I purchase an item on eBay using PayPal, I also used my bank account to pay off a Pay in 3 payment. No errors about my bank.   The emails state these points as potential reasons:   The bank account number does not exist or is invalid. The bank branch listed in your PayPal account does not exist. The bank does not accept electronic withdrawals. Another reason not specified by your bank. Every single one of these is a lie. PayPal shows no problems with my bank account, as it still says Confirmed. The bottom of the email says "Please note, for security reasons, your bank account has been disabled for use on PayPal."   I did this both via their digital assistant AND via the phone. I requested a call back at about 1pm and didn't get a call back until after 7pm... only to be told their offices are CLOSED! Rather convenient don't you think? I messaged the digital assistant about 2pm and so far, I haven't heard back (possibly due to them being closed)... so, that's helpful.   I haven't had this problem before, there's no reason to them to disable my bank account, if they did it was under false pretences AND they didn't notify me about it at any point. I find this very disappointing on PayPal's part.   Does anyone know what might have caused this to happen? I can still buy things via PayPal using my bank, so it can't be "disabled" like PayPal say. Other than getting on my knees and praying they get in contact via messaging, is there anything I can do to sort this out? Further more... to anyone reading this, is this the sort of nonsense that makes you ant t forget PayPal even exists?   Thanks! ... View more

Sent Funds via Friends and Family - Any Chance of ...

A few days ago, someone I had been speaking to for several weeks had offered me one of his RC cars for free, as he wanted to get rid of it. I said sure, why not. I also offered to at least reimburse the shipping, which he quoted at £25. This was FAR to much, it would have been £10-£15 max, but since he was giving it to me for free, I couldn't argue.   So I sent £25 via Goods and Services, just in case. He got back to me and said his PayPal account was locked due to inputting an incorrect password too many times. Seems convenient. After a few hours, I said I'll request a refund through PayPal. So I did, and the refund was processed pretty quickly. Shortly after, he said he now had access to his PayPal account. Again... rather convenient.    He said he wasn't able to access the funds because it sent via Goods and Services. No idea if that's a thing. So he also offered a refund, shortly after PayPal did. It didn't occur to me that if he sent the refund, then he MUST have had access to the money... right?   Anyway... I asked him several times over if he was legit, genuine, wouldn't scam me etc... he said no, he was legit and genuine. To be honest, I had no reason not to believe him, I've been speaking to him for months and would share photos of his RC collection, including the body-shell he purchased from me off eBay.   So now, he's had my £25 since the 6th of November, said he would have it shipped on the 7th... and still hasn't. I keep asking him but he seems to avoid the questions, and instead always asks ME a question.   I've just asked him again at 20:20 but so far, nothing. And yes.. I realise this is 100% on me, I sent it via Friends and Family, to someone I thought I trusted but he seems to be doing his best NOT to give me the RC car he promised. So in my eyes, that £25 has been stolen, at least until he tells me it's been shipped.   I know you can't get refunds from F&F transactions, and since the guy I paid seems to be refusing to ship the car out, as well as ignoring my questions about it, is there ANYTHING I can do to get a refund outside of asking him to refund me?   I've tried contacting eBay on Twitter but I was ignored. I also emailed them on their email address (which I can't include for some reason), assuming this is an active address... but I've also been ignored there as well!    I assume I'm just gonna get told "nothing I can do" and that's fine, but I thought I'd ask just in case. Pending Transactions

I've paid for many items using Pay In 3, and have never had any issues before, always paid them every month.   I've also purchased many items from the same website. Again, without any issues. This time however, using Pay In 3 I was met with a Pending Transaction, which I have never had before.   I thought something was strange when I didn't receive an automated email from the website about my order, nor did I receive an email from PayPal about the transaction. So I knew something was wrong.   I checked my payment history on PayPal, and the transaction was there, but it's shown as pending, and has been pending for well over an hour. The website always, ALWAYS takes payment immediately, and shows up in PayPal as successful and I receive the email about the order.   I've tried using the PayPal Assistant, but it's about as useful as a chocolate teapot, and I've DM'd them on **bleep** but Lord only knows if they'll even respond and the Resolution Centre is so helpful that it cannot help with this kind of transaction. Great.   Furthermore, the transactions is currently pending in my bank account, meaning that the order MUST have gone through, and PayPal will debit my account, so my money is ready to be taken, but PayPal is refusing to complete my transaction with this website.   I cannot cancel the transaction either, and I have no idea if or when the website is gonna get my payment. Not only that, but because of this, I'm not longer to receive my order tomorrow, which WOULD have happened if my payment went through right away like it always does, as I paid for Next Day Shipping as well. I haven't had the option for Pay After Delivery for the past 4-6 months. Prior to that, I'd quite often have the option to use it, and took advantage of it only a few times. It didn't matter how much the item was I buying, from £10 to £100... the option was there to use.   It's still Enabled in my PayPal settings, and if it's still an option on PayPal then it must still be active, and that PayPal hasn't cancelled it completely. I also sometimes got the PAD option on sites outside of eBay, but I haven't had the PAD option on those sites either.   I know PayPal and eBay are now separate, but it shouldn't affect PAYMENT methods or other websites, like it currently has. PAD was very useful to me, but it's slightly crippled my ability to buy items I need. PayPal Credit kinda helps, as long as the item's not too expensive.   Wish I had the PAD option just a couple of times, would have helped me out a lot.  ... View more

PayPal Transaction Not Showing on PayPal Activity....

* For some reason, my first attempt at this post got claimed as SPAM, which it isn't. Attempt Number Two *   I've seen a few of these questions, and people say it's because they made the purchase with a guest account, therefore it doesn't show up on their PayPal activity, which makes sense.   However, I always log in to PayPal... ALWAYS... so I've no idea why this particular transaction is not showing in my PayPal activity.   The transactions from PayPal usually look this: PAYPAL STATEMENT  -£10.00   But this one looks like: PAYPAL *(NAME)       -£20.70   Instead of "statement" there's a name, and under the name is an 11 digit number (35314369001), presumably the transaction I.D. I've searched for this on my PayPal activity and cannot find it anywhere. I also cannot find an email from PayPal regarding the transaction, and I've kept all PayPal emails for the past month.   This transaction is dated Wed 19th August.   The only other noteworthy item on my online bank statement is "VIS" under the transaction, which I believe means Visa Debit Card Payment. Does this mean I DIDN'T pay via PayPal and instead chose to pay using my Debit Card during checkout, instead of going through PayPal?   Because, I don't ANY emails about this transaction at all. Like I said, I saved all PayPal emails, as well as any purchase emails, for the past month and cannot find this transaction anywhere.   I've changed my PayPal password to something new, and I've changed my registered PayPal email address to one I've never used and deleted the original email address, so hopefully it's no longer associated with PayPal. Hopefully that will help, though I don't know if unauthorised payments are still be taken if you don't know my new email address.   My bank statement is ONLY place this transaction shows up, and I've no idea why. Unable to Get a Refund...

So I've had to return an item due to the fact that the advertised item was quite different to the actual item I received, and therefore wasn't suitable to my needs. I contacted the seller to let them know and they agreed to offer a refund once they've received the item back, so I started the return process with eBay as per the norm.   I printed out the pre-paid shipping label, but found it was a Royal Mail label. Unfortunately, due to the current situation, ALL of our local Post Offices are closed and therefore cannot get the item shipped out via RM (and they don't do collections).   In the end, I bought a collection via MyHermes as I wouldn't have been able to get the item shipped out. I'm keeping an eye on the tracking, it seems they've attempted a delivery but no-one was available so they took it back... this is concerning to me.   Also, eBay is still saying I need to ship out the item by 9th June to complete the return process, but I shipped it out on 6th June and it doesn't appear i can change this status manually. If it stays at "Need to Dispatch" I assume the return won't complete and my refund will not take place?   So I looked on both eBay and PayPal to see if I could claim a refund in the event that the item is returned to me due to three failed attempts, BUT I cannot find ANYWHERE I can do this. If I get the item back and I cannot contact the seller to ask directly for a refund... how do I go about "forcing" a refund when there are no options anywhere to do so? I can't seem to contact eBay or PayPal as anything I try just sends me to the current returns cases on eBay.   Basically, how I do request a refund if: 1) The item ends up being returned to me after a failed delivery attempts 2) I cannot contact the seller to ask for a refund (they don't respond or ignore me) 3) The return status doesn't change from "Need to Dispatch" and therefore eBay thinks the return is still in progress 4) There are NO ways to contact eBay or PayPal about starting a claim, because the return is still on progress   Thanks and cheers!   EDIT: Turns out the shipping address (Allen Ford) is TEMPORARILY CLOSED until further notice, so the item will NEVER get returned! Bank Transfer To PayPal Failing...

OK, well I can't really seem to find anything regarding my issue of sending money TO PayPal FROM my bank (I can only find the more common PayPal to bank).   Before, you could request funds from your bank to be transferred to your PayPal account. I did this many years ago, but I'm guessing this feature was long since removed as you now have to do it via your bank.   Which I did. The first time I tried to transfer from my bank to PayPal it failed saying "Reversal of 25-03 - PayPal CR" ...so it didn't go through. The funds were back in my bank account shortly after. I did this via my HSBC app on my phone.   The second attempt was today, I did it via the HSBC website this time. So I transferred a small amount to test it again. I put in all the correct information (eventually) as I was having difficulty getting the Company Reference correct. The transfer was (successful) according to my bank statement, as it has not yet been reversed. My PayPal balance still reads nothing, and there are no pending payments listed either.   OK, never ind.. i JUST checked my statement this minute, and yeah... "Reversal of 27-03 - PayPal CR" ...what is happening and why am I unable to transfer even a small amount of money to PayPal? I've transferred money TO PayPal once or twice in the past (when it was much easier) and it was always successful and every piece of information is correct.   Is something broken on PayPals end? Is my bank refusing the transfer? The transfer was successful on my end and no errors occurred during the request.   I'd like to transfer money to my PayPal account periodically but at the moment it seems to be an impossible feat. If anyone has any help yhey can provide that would be good! Please and thank you!   EDIT: I just tried to request money from my bank via the PayPal app instead, Estimated to take 4-5 working days though. We'll see if this helps, and it was a lot easier as well. But I still cannot do this via the PayPal website, only the app, so I'm no 100% convinced this will work either.  ... View more
