HORRIBLE IDEA TO HOLD FUNDS FOR 21 DAYS!!!

Holding funds from sellers until the buyer leaves feedback is the worst idea EVER! Since when does Paypal become an authority on buyer satisfaction?? A smooth transaction is all that I wanted from Paypal. If they are going to hold funds, then they should make it very clear BEFORE you use them!  Keeping my money in their account for 21 days is a HUGE disadvantage of using Paypal. Stick to transferring funds, not trying to be a satisfaction authority!

I couldn't agree more! Since when can a company hold money from you, yet they can take their more-than- fair share!I sold my items 14 days ago, and have received all positive feedback, yet they still have not released my money which is almost $1000.00!!! I sold items because I needed the money, not to let Paypal reap profits off of our interest! We all need to protest these new policies, including buyer protection! What about Seller protection? If it weren't for us there would be no Ebay or Paypal! No more for me. I'll use Craigslist!

I was just put on 21 day hold policy last weekend.  I've been a customer since 2005.  Why 6 years after I opened an account with ebay and paypal, I am now being considered a "high risk seller"?

1.  Yes, I often sell during Christmas time.  That's when I need the money and that's when eBay makes the most money, too!  So, if I was put on the policy hold because of "increased selling activity", are you telling me that I will forever be on this policy ---because I rarely have a need to sell any other time.  So, why should I even bother with having an ebay account if I sell stuff rarely and if I wont get funds until nearly a month after I've sold it?

2.  Yes, I sold a Tiffany & Co. necklace (I'm sure it's considered a high profile item).  But you know what?  I received positive feedback from the buyer of that necklace!! I called PayPal and the lady said that that item could have been the reason for my limitation.  But I need a deeper explanation as to why because the item sold to someone who was happy with it!  So, where's the risk?

3.  I've never had negative feedback.  Ever.

4.  I ship items quickly. Always.

I dont understand why I was put on the 21 day limitation...and the explanations that have been given to me from PayPal representatives haven't been satisfactory.  I've had one representative say that "all customers" will be put on the 21 day policy at some point.  Why then does it say on PayPal's FAQ that the policy is for those who are higher risk?  Why does it give suggestions as to how to NOT get put on this policy?

I am not satisfied with the answers given to me. They simply don't make sense!!!

My first sale on ebay, already a mess. Yea, why does the buyer get the first say? I am the one who is risking everything. the money and the item. I am not a happy camper. The shipping on paypal broke, I physically went to Post Office and sent item Priority Mail and Certified mail, I sent a copy of the reciepts to buyer. Checked tracking, the post office tried to deliver twice on Sat. feb. 12, 2011. Buyer sends email, I will pick up at post office tomorrow night. He said that when he checked the transaction, it declared it was complete. Does he know I am a first time seller?  Does he know that he needs to give some feedback on my dealings with him, so that I may get my money.  I am disabled, and I need that money now. The buyer has the receipt to pick up the package...I have nothing. Lawsuit time, When I signed up with ebay and paypal, it did not state that the buyer would have to give feedback so that I could get paid. That should be in BIG, BOLD LETTERS AND UNDERLINED, THAT UNTIL YOU ARE ESTABLISHED AS AN HONEST SELLER AND SHIPPER, YOU MUST WAIT 21 DAYS TO BE PAID.

Ebay limited my account to 48 listing a montH or 594.00.  ARE YOU SERIOUS.  I am still **bleep** off about it.  Paypal also put a hold on my funds BECAUSE A BUYER DIDN'T RECEIVE IT WHEN EBAY SAID IT WOULD BE THERE.  THERE WAS A FRICKIN BLIZZARD OUTSIDE NO MAIL WAS GOING ANYWHERE.....  .   We are being held hostage to a company we all helped create.  WHAT ABOUT THE SELLLER!!!!!!!!!!  THE BUYER IS NOT ALWAY RIGHT.
