Is Paypal's UI designed to funnel its users into a whirlwind of fees?

In this post I will explain how Paypal's current UI funnels its users into a windmill of fees, and I believe this is done very intentionally.

Tonight, I was sent $1000 from a friend.  I attempted to withdraw, but Paypal disallowed for seemingly no reason.  Now, 6 hours later, my $1,000 is $775 and I still have almost $300 stuck on this platform.

So what happened? Well, I...

1) Bought $500 of ETH ($8 txn fee)

2) Attempted to withdraw ETH, was denied.  No reason given, just "Something went wrong, trying again may help fix the problem"

3) Sent $500 cash to a different friend so he could try to withdraw.
--Friend could not withdraw, was just told "Something went wrong, trying again may help fix the problem"

--Friend bought ETH with the money ($8 transaction fee)
--Could not withdraw, was just told "Something went wrong, trying again may help fix the problem"
--Friend sold ETH  ($8 transaction fee)

--Friend attempted to transfer funds ($8 transaction fee), suddenly his account was locked down and he needed to submit info to unlock

--Friend went through the process, was told it was all clear, but again was not allowed to withdraw funds

--Friend was allowed to pull out a bunch of smaller withdraws (At the cost of transaction fees, of course)

4) I sold my ETH ($8 txn fee)

5) Attempted to withdraw, was just told "Something went wrong, trying again may help fix the problem"

6) Attempted to pull money out of the account using the Paypal debit card.   It was declined.

7) Attempted to transfer to my bank account.  It succeeded, so I paid the txn fee, but then later it failed. lmao.

😎 Bought $PYU to see if that would work ($8 txn fee).  Was allowed to withdraw under $100 worth, but no more.

9) Sold $PYU ($8 txn fee)

10) Finally, Paypal just completely locked up. I've submitted info, and been given the green light, but still nothing works.

Now, I cannot touch the rest of my funds.  I was given no reason why, but was told by the UI that "Trying again may fix the problem" over and over and over and over again.  Meanwhile, trying again racked up over $200 in transaction fees.   Not once was I told "please contact support" or "you will need wait," the only direction I received from Paypal was "Trying again may fix the problem."

This is straight up farming fees from their userbase.  It's despicable, and so brazenly predatory that it's probably borderline illegal.  And not even providing 24 hour service?  Even just now, I can't upload the countless photos of fees and error messages I received because they have a 10-image max.

Uploading 7jfc.jpg resulted in the following error: You have already uploaded 10 images during this 24-hour window. You can try to upload more images later.

Uploading phot[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]03-28.jpg resulted in the following error: You have already uploaded 10 images during this 24-hour window. You can try to upload more images later.

I can't help it that your platform is so defunct that I needed to use more than the allotted 10 images just to upload everything that went wrong... I CANT EVEN ACCESS THE PHOTOS I DID UPLOAD DOES ANYTHING WORK ON THIS  PLATFORM

Like the rest of the world, I don't use Paypal much these days, and tonight marks the last time I will ever use this platform again.
