Charged: Wrong Method, KNOWN ISSUE, NO SOLUTION?

EDIT 9/16/23 - BROUGHT UP A BUNCH OF THESE LINKS TO CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY CANT EVEN VIEW THEIR OWN COMMUNITY AND TOLD ME TO CALL.

THAT DOES NOT RESOLVE ANYTHING
I've been dealing with less than helpful customer service that can't even seem to keep the issue straight, don't read prior notes, address issues I'm not talking about, and generally push me off to anyone other than those responsible (HINT: It's PayPal).
PayPal is choosing an incorrect payment method (my bank account) instead of the one I've specified. They also refused to charge the correct method when I requested them to. I was pushed off to eBay, then they told me to go to the sellers, the sellers called me scammers, go back to eBay, no help at all. PayPal insists during quite a few rounds eBay holds buyer agreements, only for them to change their story about 5 or 6 contacts later and finally explain WHERE to find autopayment settings (NOT IN WALLET?!)
I triple check things, and see that I am not in error at anywhere at all. All the while my bank account is continually being re-charged into the negatives of OVER $600. That's over 20 overdraft fees I was hit with. You'd think PayPal WOULD STOP AFTER THE FIRST DOZEN AT LEAST?!
AFTER SECOND CHARGE ATTEMPTS (all of which came AFTER my attempts to contact customer service and have them charge ANYTHING BUT MY BANK), it goes to... MY INTIALLY SELECTED PREFERRED METHOD, THE ENTIRE TIME I'VE BEEN DEALING WITH THIS I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT WASN'T POSSIBLE.
So when is PayPal going to give us our restitution instead of answers like "set up your autopayment the correct way."
Also, customer service A WEEK AFTER INITIAL CONTACT said I SET UP AUTOPAYMENT WITHOUT A FUNDING SOURCE? HOW? HOW IS IT POSSIBLE TO SET UP AN AUTOPAYMENT WITHOUT SELECTING A FORM OF PAYMENT FOR THAT AUTOPAYMENT SYSTEM? The fact I don't remember, nor do I have ANY confirmation emails from PayPal when this supposedly was set up IMPLIES I WAS ENROLLED WITHOUT MY CONSENT TO BE CHARGED TO AN ACCOUNT I DID NOT AUTHORIZE PAYMENTS TO.

It seems like the problems for all of us started in July, August, or this month, so this is a fairly new issue, and seemingly a wider spread one than PayPal is willing to admit.

Oh, I love how you guys can't even provide me with documentation as to WHY the transactions AREN'T fraudulently sent to the wrong payment form.
At least you guys are making it increasingly clear I need to contact my bank because you guys have no idea what you are doing, nor are willing to fix the situation. I think I need to sit down with my lawyer over all of this, as it's not an isolated incident as others are going through the same thing, and being provided **bleep** answers.

Same happened to me. Purposefully chose to charge to PP credit because I got a great deal. Large purchase. Sure enough, ppal charges MY GODDAMN BIZ ACCOUNT. Transaction is pending, I can't do anything with Ppal. Call the retailer "transaction went thru, we can't do anything."
