How to setup Sandbox to confirm that CC payments can be received.

Hi,

I'm very new to this Sandbox issue, and therefore have never used it.

I want to start selling online and I have created a site using Opencart, but I want to test that it is capable of accepting card payments. I have no idea how to do this but I understand that I need to setup a sandbox account to do so. I have spent days trawling through all kinds of information and I am no clearer on how to do this now than when I started. I have been navigating as best I can through this forum too, and can't quite seem to find the information I need.

I would appreciate some help here. Thanks in advance 🙂

Hi Jay2014,

I too have spent considerable time on this and I am still struggling. This is the worst "user experience" of software I have ever encountered.  You would think with the large amount of cash in the bank ebay would write some decent software.  I have found NO beginner tutorials, explanations of how all this works.

I did however find where to create a Sandbox.  You need to register on the Developer Platform: https://developer.paypal.com/developer

*Note: when you login, and go to dashboard, nothing happens, you have to press Dashboard again for some reason.

In the sandbox mode, you can create "fake" accounts (Business and Personal) though there is no guide on exactly how to use these (I have never used paypal before). When setting up "Business Accounts" you are asked for some URLs (again, there is no explaination of what these are or what they are used for).

Hope you have more luck than I
