I have had the exact same experience, in Aug 22 I had 2 payments taken one for £47.99 the other for £42.99 I queried and they were refunded I cancelled all preapproved future payments then low and behold another 3 payments came out! This time it wa[Removed. Phone #s not permitted]5th Oct and £49.99 9th Oct! I have only just noticed as I no longer use my paypal yet Paypal have said the payment is not unauthorised.... Its ridiculous especially as the payment has gone up and I have no idea what it is for

Remind me in what way have you helped. If I can’t access a subscription, how do I go about cancelling further pre approved payments? Your asking me to log in to the service and I’m telling you I can’t. Are you saying that digital river or PayPal cannot find out what the service is and maybe try help me to gain access to the service provider and talk to someone who can help me cancel any further subscriptions and pre-approved payments. This obviously looks like a recurring situation a lot of people get in and your advice is to be careful but don’t offer any supporting advice or solution. I’ve not seen one person find resolution on here.

I'm sorry to hear you've both recently had unauthorized payments through a subscription, @ChrissieF80 and @Stekillen1. To learn more about what may have happened, please visit your PayPal Activity and search the merchant's name. Typically, the first purchase with a merchant has the most detail and could help you determine how the subscription was created. If you haven't already, please follow the instructions @kernowlass provided to cancel any subscriptions/automatic payments. You can also find them in the Help Center here

After reviewing your recent transactions, if you find that an appeal is needed on your unauthorized dispute, please reach out to Customer Support through one of these options.

I had the same issue and ended up having my credit card back-charge to my account so I got my money back. There are other threads on here stating who they are, and to my understanding they are a 3rd party who deal with transactions from website subscriptions. Although like many, when you contact them, they first ask for the last 4 digits on your credit card. Yeah no thank you! Like hell I will ever give that out with the amount of feel-good scammer payback shorts in my YouTube feed I watch daily.
So I gave them the option to find my details in any other way other than me giving out my credit card details, they couldn't. Well they get back-charged until they can provide a safer way to ID their so-called clients. Simple.
It's 2024, if you cannot provide me with ANY other details, you lose money and business.

Hello,

I have been charged EUR 64.99 by Digital River Ireland a few days ago because of automatic payment that was enabled on my PP account.

I had it turned off right after this, BUT even though automatic payment is our responsability as users, the amount charged is not! What I mean is that Digital River Ireland charged me EUR 35.99 in 2022, then EUR 28.69 in 2023 for renewal. So why the h... is it now EUR 64.99???

They give no information on this. This is totally - and probably purposedly - opaque and unpredictable.

I have lodged a complaint with them and PP so that I am refunded by DRI.

Looking forward to a resolution of this.
