Unauthorized repeating payment to "Facebook ads"

An automated payment I did not authorize or confirm went through my PayPal account to "Facebook," specifically their ads. I am the only user of my PayPal account and after checking, it doesn't look like there was a way for me to misclick on anything to receive a charge in this amount (the charge was $4 and the cost for promoting a page is $6, nothing charges the amount I was charged). The description of the service provided is something like being able to make payments through Facebook without logging in to PayPal and to receive PayPal updates through messenger. When I try to fix the issue through Facebook with the link provided to report a problem, I have gotten an error message every time. My dispute turned back negative as PayPal has deemed it an "authorized" payment despite no authorization for a repeating payment from me. I don't do repeat payments through paypal and would not authorize this action. This sounds like a scam of some sort. It would have activated a repeating payment on my account if I hadn't been alerted and cancelled it. If someone did actually use Facebook or a promotion service through them, something like this could go by unnoticed. I have turned off the automated payment and reset my passwords. Is there anyone with insight on what happened or how it happened, or who knows how I can further contact PayPal or facebook for more information to dispute further?

I just had this happen to me with a total of $409, and a subscription starting from November 2019??? I've gotten the run around from PayPal and my credit card. I've figured out a way to message Facebook, the email address was on the transactions in PayPal.
Here's the convo of what they asked me:
Thanks for contacting Meta.
To best assist you, I'll need to know the reference number of the transaction you need help with. Each transaction you make for Facebook ads with a credit card has a 10-character reference number that you can find on your credit card statement or in the Billing section of your Ads Manager. On your credit card statements, reference numbers will usually appear next to a label like "FACEBK*" or "FACEBOOK.COM*" and end in the number 2.
For help with finding reference numbers and examples of what they look like, you can go to our Advertiser Help Center:
Please note that you may not find your reference number if you're using a debit card as your payment method for ads. If this is the case, please let me know. Once you reply with this information, I'll be happy to assist you further.
Thanks,

Same thing happened here.
Facebook took a week to give me reply, however I can't believe that they refused to refund me by saying
"Because our records do not indicate suspicious activity on your account, we will be unable to refund your purchase in this case. When you completed your purchase, you agreed to our Terms and Conditions by clicking the 'Place Order' button. Our Payment Terms are always available at http://www.facebook.com/payments_terms/."
Come on, the point is I didn't "clicking the 'Place Order' button", redicalious, I assumed they are able to chase the movement to found out I haven't really access the transaction.
So called big tech. Hilarious

Same story. I just noticed that Facebook was charging me about $50 per month (in different amounts) for several months. I double checked all my accounts, including Instagram and did not see any subscriptions for ads or anything. I turned off the PayPal auto payments and opened a dispute and PayPal said these were legit. Will escalate to Facebook, and if it does not get resolved, will file a case with CA AG.

Same here. My facebook account was hacked a week ago and someone is trying to rob me an amount of 480 euros. Paypal says that it's all good and it was me. The bank already received the order from Paypal to withdraw those 480 euros from my account. How can I solve this?

Hello @Pete_px,
Thanks for joining the PayPal Community!
I'm sorry to hear that your Facebook account had unauthorized account access. If you already had an established automatic payment with PayPal and Facebook, then the unauthorized charge was likely processed through that connection. When this happens, it means nobody logged into your PayPal account, so PayPal wouldn't be able to approve an unauthorized dispute. You'd need to file the dispute directly with Facebook (Meta). However, if you didn't have a preexisting automatic payment, please contact Customer Support here to request that an appeal be filed. Please also double-check the automatic payment was canceled here.
I hope you receive a refund soon!
