Tracking an unauthorised transaction

Sunday, 9 July, about 10:45 am, AWST, as I write. Good morning from Perth, Western Australia! The other day, I sent via Google Chat the details of a gift card to a friend. Somehow, my message was intercepted and all the funds were cleaned out. I found out that the transaction that used all the funds was a PayPal one, the details of which I can send you if you can help me. I would like to know if, from these transaction details, you can find out any information about the perpetrator or hacker, such as where the transaction occurred and any details you can provide me. I look forward to your response! Thank you! I now have to go to the PayPal website and see if there is a means of contacting you! I hope there is! Regards, Geoffrey [removed]. PS: I could not see any way of posting my query other than in here. I hope I get some useful feedback!

Hello @GeoffreyR1

Welcome to the PayPal Community Forum! I'm sorry to hear a recent gift card was used on PayPal in a fraudulent manner. Unfortunately, our support teams would not be able to provide any details about activity on another account. If this transaction were to have occurred on your PayPal account, we would be able to guide you through our dispute process. However, in this case we would recommend reaching out to the sponsor of the gift card and reporting the fraudulent activity with them.

My apologies for any inconvenience this may cause,
