Scammed on Reverb.com and 2 months with no refund

I bought a guitar using PayPal Credit on Reverb.com on 9/5/22. On 9/8/22, I received a keychain and no guitar. 

I contacted the merchant (Reverb.com) and it took almost 7 days to receive a reply. Before that happened, I opened a PayPal dispute, then a few days later, I opened a PayPal Credit chargeback. 

On 9/14/22, Reverb.com said they would issue a full refund and I need to close my chargeback case with PayPal Credit so I did. 

Here we are almost two months later, and Reverb is telling me they issued a refund and I need to contact PayPal to find out why I didn't receive it, PayPal is blaming PayPal Credit for not getting chargeback closure notification to close the PayPal dispute that is frozen, and PayPal Credit is blaming the merchant (Reverb) for not issuing a refund. 

Is there any chance of getting this money back or did I shoot myself in the foot filing a PayPal Credit chargeback after opening a dispute with PayPal? The amount in question is $768.25.

I certainly understand how concerning this can be for you. When a refund is issued, you will get a confirmation email from PayPal about the refund details. Have you received the email confirmation from PayPal about the refund issued by merchant?
