Case & Chargeback problem for developer

Hello,

I resigned from my development role on a "Game" server where you worked last week. The client was using me like a slave and I didn't want to work anymore. I found the money insufficient.

Before I resigned, position changes were made 3 times and they left a great damage on the system by deleting the systems from the infrastructure I set up. That's why I didn't want to work.

After he resigned, he tried to get back all the fees he paid me with the case and I shared all the evidence. I won. But now the case shows as "chargeback".

What should I do in this situation? What precautions should I take?

Does Paypal protect us developers? What documents should I have ready in such a case? What path should I follow? I don't want to lose money and many developers have done this. This is how he defrauded 3 developers before me. I just found out...

Hello @developer0152,

Thank you for your post and welcome to our community!

I understand your concern about receiving a chargeback from the sender/buyer of the payment. When a customer files a chargeback with their credit card issuer, it means that they’re disputing a charge and asking the card issuer for a refund. A chargeback isn’t the same as a PayPal claim and chargeback process is initiated outside of PayPal, between the card issuer and their cardholder. In a dispute over a chargeback, the decision is ultimately made by the card issuer and we don't decide the outcome.

You can learn more about chargebacks here.

I hope this information helps, have a great day!

Hello,

Thank you for your valuable comment. I know that. However, I still have some questions that I can't understand. I would be glad if you could answer my questions below.

1. How can I defend myself against the other party's financial institution?
2. How does the process work if the financial institution decides against me or in my favour?
3. If I win the case, the balance in my account from the other party will fall to "-"; How can I file a complaint for being damaged commercially?
