Erroneous charge back / false claim of unauthorized transaction.

My renter deposited her May rent into my paypal account. She broke her lease and somehow managed to get paypay to give her money back as an "unathorized transaction". Paypal open the dispute and closed all within one hour's time, not allowing me to refute her claim. Paypal reopened the dispute and said it was being escalated to the "back office". Long story short, three times the claim was closed in my renter's favor leaving my paypal account with a negative balance. I supplied paypal with a lease. I did not take the money from her account, she deposited it and even notated it was form her May rent. Each time when I called back Paypal, I was assured me this was be corrected.  Each time the claim has been closed in my renter's favor. I am still left with a negative balance of over $1800 in my PayPal account. I am exasperated and confused by this. I do not understand why PayPal does not refund my money.

Hello @dlfrederking

Welcome to the PayPal Community Forum! I'm sorry to hear a recent dispute did not go as you expected. I can certainly understand how concerning this must be. Unfortunately, rent is not a service protected by PayPal's Seller Protection. You may want to consult with a legal specialist In situations where a tenant has broken their lease agreement and / or charged back a month's rent.

Good luck and best wishes!
