Is it just me, or is anyone else fed up of waiting 2-3 minutes to log in to paypal, and on average 30 seconds for each web page to load? This is the slowest website I use BY FAR.
And yet, other websites - many of which are free to use and have much more content to load (youtube etc.) - manage to load pages, media etc. in a fraction of the time paypal takes. And we pay for paypal!
PAYPAL - you are the worst website I use, and one of the most expensive services I pay for. SORT YOURSELVES OUT WHILE YOU STILL HAVE CUSTOMERS!!!!

Logging in to my PayPal account takes more than 5 minutes -- WAY MORE! Today I've been waiting more than 20 minutes and the big wheel just keeps on turning. This is unacceptable. I can access other secure servers instantly. This company has built its huge resources by cutting customer service. Telephone waits are also unbearably long. If PayPal ACTUALLY valued my business; PayPal would fix these widely known problems. Totally inferior communications services. I will avoid using PayPal whenever possible and will use this unbearable wait time to research other online banking options.

Hi Boblue,
Welcome to the Community Forum!
I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties with logging in to your PayPal account
We are not experiencing any logging delays. Have you tried cleaning cash & cookies and/or changing web browser, restarting PC/laptop and trying to log in again?
Hope it will help!
Anna

I'll add my voice to this. Your site is beyond brutal. It took me a full 10 minutes to get to this point, to be able to post in this forum. I use PayPal regularly, unfortunately, 3-4 times per week on average and I realized recently that I was starting to just take it for granted - 5-10 minutes to log in and send a payment - and this is just not acceptable. I am not running older technology, I have a Macbook Air, I can't imagine that anyone with a computer older than 2-3 years could even use this site. And yes, I do regularly clean my cache, reboot yada-yada...but the point is I shouldn't have to. This site must generate more $$$ than just about any other site on the web, how about addressing this problem and doing something about it? It's ridiculous. Maybe start with redesigning it so that when you log on you don't have to load and run some stupid video that must be a total hog on any available resources; get rid of all the graphic intensive bullsh*t and give us a site where we can just log in quickly, send some $$$ and be done with it. It really is a total frustrating load of crap. I am actively looking for an alternative and look forward to saying bye-bye Paypal.

I'm having trouble as well in both Firefox and Chrome on my Mac. I have no trouble with any other website.
I've cleared browsing history, cache, restarted my computer several times, and it's still taking several minutes to log into PayPal and conduct any business. Very frustrating. This has been going on for the past several days. Any other suggestions?

I am running a tracert right now (as I sit here getting server errors from the Paypal website and now am waiting for the final section of the first page to load) and I hate to say it but clearing my cookies and temp files won't fix what the tracert shows. It shows server timeouts after hop 6 which is gi1-1-ash1-br01.net.ebay.com [66.211.161.237]. All requests after that point timed out. It's not a BROWSER problem it's a server problem.

Hey mods, how about you quit blaming the speed of the site on "cache and cookies"
You're well-aware that your site is painfully slow and that it has nothing to do with a user's browser, settings, cache or cookies.
Thank god I am switching to a real merchant account with a real bank on Jan 1. No more holdbacks, no more waiting four freaking days for transfers, no more 2.9%.
good riddance.

I agree with everybody here. Please fix the speed. We are losing customers this way!

It has been slow for years, I think they have a poor database guy, their focus has only been on functionality and not on speed and it comes from proper indexing of content.
If Paypal needs me to come check their performance I can fix it!

Maybe the work they are doing on the 20th April will include the 'speed' problem. I'm using Paypal everyday for our on-line business and it's still slooooooooooow!!! To Paypal's credit- if I do have a problem (apart from their slow site!) I can always get through to them- as it should be, but I have heard this is not possible with some of their competitors.
