I purchased a couple of items from Advance auto parts and paid via my Paypal account (paid through my bank account). One of the items I returned on 8/15 and a refund from Advance was posted (and completed) to my account on 8/16. The status of the refund is listed as completed for around $27 but my account has a blance of $0. It does not appear to of went to my bank account and I had thought that it would go to my PayPal account. Does it take more than two days for the amount to show up in your balance even after the status of the refund is completed?
Thanks for the help,
Eric

Ok so I have a very similar situation. I sent money once as a Gift, and it was refunded to me. So, I then sent it again, and it was accepted. However, now I have two charges on my bank account which has caused my account to be overdrawn. My paypal balance shows $00.00 and the refund say Completed, but once you click on the details it shows tempory hold and "placed" to the right of there. When and how will I get the money for my first transaction that was "refunded" so to speak?

I am also having this issue, and normally I would just give it a little longer, however I had two charges for the same amount get refunded and one of them made it into my account where it belongs. The other one that says it was completed on the same day however has not shown up. That was about a week ago. I don't know why they both wouldn't be showing up in my account as they were done simultaniously.
I get emails about things being taken care of, but when there is still a problem, there is no way to just let them know something is still wrong. It isn't a new transaction dispute. Most of the "help" pages end with no way to actually contact paypal.
I understand that having a direct email address that people can send things to is a pain as there would be thousands every day, but there has to be a better way. I have finally gotten frustrated enough to post here. I am hoping I will actually get some good advice on how to explain my situation with specifics without posting it all to a public forum like this one.

Paypal said that they were waiting on the transaction to post to my bank account, and then after it posted there, it would post to my paypal balance. From there they said I could transfer it from my paypal account back into my bank account. We'll see what happens because it's been about 4 days, and they said it will take 3-5 business days.

if the Paypal payment was funded from a bank account, it is treated as instant if you also have a cc or debit card on file with payal.
The payment has not been posted to Paypal yet but because of the back up funding source (cc/debit), they treat it as a completed payment and pay the seller.
When a seller refunds within 4 days, the original payment still might not have totally cleared, so paypal waits till it clears, then forwards the refund to the buyers paypal account

I am having the same issues. I purchased an item and paid for it thru paypal. The seller found the item was damaged before shipping and I received a refund email. My account shows the refund, that it was on hold, then the hold was removed. I have never received the refund and am flustrated that I can't reach anyone about this!
There must be someway for us to resolve these issues. It has been a month so it's not a question of waiting. It was not added and used on another transaction. It has just been...lost?

I had this same thing happen, its been since the 20th of SEPTEMBER! This has me really distressed And I have tried to file a dispute but it says I can't because the transaction is not complete! The transaction was for $83.96 My acc history says it is complete for some reason and that it was refunded to my paypal account has only ever had ONE DOLLAR and NINETY FIVE CENTS in it because I always transfer the money straight from my bank account . I have my bank statment available and can prove that it was never spent. Since this happened paypal has limited my account for some reason it says it was random but strange timing and its a confirmed account??? Why can't I dispute this transaction and have this investigated?

I forgot to mention that paypal putting my account on hold is the only reason why my account has $1.95 I had to prove my identity and provide a copy of my ss card just to get them to assess my account which they still have not done
And they will not let me close my account even though I really do not want to. What is going on???!!!

This made sense for the first few seconds. When my bank statement shows that the amount has cleared, it no longer makes sense.
