If you sell through a marketplace no, because the marketplace will handle that for you. You charge and customer pays the tax and depending how the marketplace have it hooked up; they may invoice you for those taxes monthly along with their commission fees or split the payment so that you don't even see it.
If you're selling on your own website, you will have to meet certain threshold for each state which averages about 200 transactions and around $100K, some is more, some is less. And get a resellers permit and all that to be able to even charge sales tax.
