This FAQ

https://www.paypal.com/us/smarthelp/article/how-do-i-link,-remove-or-update-a-card-faq1457

explicitly states how to . . .

Update a debit, credit or prepaid card

I don't mean to beat a dead horse but can we or can we not fund our PayPal account with a Prepaid VISA/Mastercard card? And if not, why is PayPal promulgating information it knows to be false? Some starving humanities major will take the cash he just got from selling his books and motor on over to CVS to purchase a prepaid VISA or MasterCard intending to use it to fund his PayPal account because this FAQ not only suggests he can, it provides instructions! I show up here periodically to ask this same question!

Hi @inuit,

Thank you for your post and I'm sorry for any confusion. You can add a card to your account, but you cannot add funds from that card to your balance. An added card can be used to fund a payment to another person or merchant. This is true whether it is a credit, debit, or prepaid card. If it is a prepaid card, the card must be able to be registered with the card issuer with your name and address.

I hope this helps clarify!

Olivia
