Unauthorized Cancellation and Refund

Hello all so I woke up today to a cancellation by the buyer and a refund given to the buyer by PayPal and eBay. I call eBay they say call PayPal I call PayPal they say call eBay but here’s the problem... I mailed the item 1 day after the item sold on eBay and the item is still in transit to the buyer, he emailed me asking about the package and I essentially told him it’s a long way from my location to his and it will be there in due time. (I didn’t realize the tracking number I listed was 1 character off at this point so it wasn’t showing shipped) so he calls emails whatever to eBay and cancels the item, they cancel it and issue a refund to the buyer but the item is going to be delivered In the next day or 2. What can I do because now I’m out the item and over $290 ? I call eBay and they say I approved the refund request when I didn’t approve anything because I wouldn’t approve it with the item being delivered in the next day or 2 ! Please help

All you can do is request the buyer returns the item back to you by offering to pay them return shipping costs OR pay you again if they still want the item.
However you can't force them to do either really.
Advice is voluntary.
