Phone number changed - can't log in

My mobile number changed a few years ago but I never updated my profile. 

Now I can't log in as Paypal wants to send me a text on the old number to verify the account.

I've tried logging in from a different browser which doesn't work.

Also tried using the Help Chat system, but this also requires me to log in to proceed.

Tried ringing the help support number but spent ages going round and round in circles with the automated options, could not get to a point of speaking to an actual person.

Funny thing is, when I selected 'Ask the Community' to access this forum, it allowed me to log in to create this profile to do this!

Really stuck as to how to resolve. Would really appreciate if anyone can offer some help with this please?

I have the same problem

Had an old paypal account - moved from Slovakia to Malaysia and now after years they only allow me to log on with mobile verfication.
Unfortunately a customer made suddenly a payment to my Paypal account and I can not even access it to verify if it was done or not. And no Paypal help center reachable - customer service really sucks a lot.

I have changed phone and my number but forgot to change the number on PayPal before doing so now when I try to log in it trys to send my old number a text or call for a pin how can I get round this

could someone help me I've lost sim card no longer can access my paypal account require enter a phone text.

i recently lost my phone and am waiting for replacement, however, my old mobile number has been disabled. When i try to log into my account wants to authenticate via text to this old number. I want to add a new number to the list but cant get passed the first step.

Any help or do i need to contact support?
