Phone number changed - can't log in

My mobile number changed a few years ago but I never updated my profile. 

Now I can't log in as Paypal wants to send me a text on the old number to verify the account.

I've tried logging in from a different browser which doesn't work.

Also tried using the Help Chat system, but this also requires me to log in to proceed.

Tried ringing the help support number but spent ages going round and round in circles with the automated options, could not get to a point of speaking to an actual person.

Funny thing is, when I selected 'Ask the Community' to access this forum, it allowed me to log in to create this profile to do this!

Really stuck as to how to resolve. Would really appreciate if anyone can offer some help with this please?

Hi Guys, I have changed my country of residence and my phone number, and I'm unable to log in to my account. The help center also requires a login and phone number. Does anyone know how I can change my number and regain access to my account?

Paypal is country specific so if you move countries you have to open another paypal account in the country you reside in and add an address / phone number / bank accounts / cards from within that country.

You should really withdraw any funds / resolve issues / remove cards and bank accounts / cancel any subscriptions and close the old Paypal account before you move countries. If you don't then you may have problems doing so once you have moved and may need to contact customer services for help to resolve things.

Contact options for each countries Paypal customer services are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.

1. Paypal phones (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, (during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out).
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a private direct message via Social Media on Facebook, Twitter/X, or Instagram pages.

My account was in France. I keep going round in circles with the French system which will NOT let you log in without sending a message to the phone I no longer have. I have emailed them (in French) and they haven't replied in two months, so I assume they won't at all.

Tried UK office who could not have been less interested. Got very short shrift from them - just kept telling me to contact France (who either won't let me log in or to talk to them of ignore my e-mails.

I'm trying to pay money on line to my grandson's honeymoon fund but the system blocks me every time.

Anyone else got any ideas?

There is different phone number on my account. I never change my number! But in confirmed number is when I try log in is different!

Old registered telephone number defect. I have to enter the new one, but cant log in

If you go to the 'Help & Contact' icon on the PayPal website. Then if you click the 'Contact Us' link at the bottom of the page. From here, if you click the 'Password and Account Access' option, then 'Login Problems'. On the next page, you will see a 'Call Us' option. You do not need to be logged in to use this feature.
