Please do not assume that it's a Personal account, it is not. It remains a Business account, as we speak.

Funny thing, though. I do not even recall upgrading to a Business account at any point. It just became is.

If you only have one account then I am assuming nothing as it clearly states you have a paypal PERSONAL ACCOUNT.

Why do you think you have a business account if you have not upgraded and its clearly SHOWING you as having a personal account.

Hello @Dothackjhe and @kernowlass

Welcome back to the Community, and thanks for stopping by!

@kernowlass, thank you for taking the time out of your day to answer questions on the Community Forums.

@Dothackjhe, I'm sorry to hear you don't see the option to upgrade your account. I suggest clearing your cache and cookies or trying a different web browser. If you decide you'd like to upgrade your account, you may find this Help Center article useful: How do I change the type of PayPal account I have? I also suggest reviewing this article before you consider upgrading: What is the difference between Personal and Business accounts?

As @kernowlass mentioned, you do have a Personal PayPal account, which can be verified on your Community Profile. If the option to upgrade still isn't showing, please reach out to Customer Support for further assistance in upgrading. You can reach Customer Support by selecting 'Contact' at the bottom of our website. However, if you would like to remain with a personal account, you're already set.

Have a beautiful rest of your weekend!

- Meghan

The confusion is in her first post she asked to switch TO personal FROM business and was not asking to upgrade???

This is what was asked.

I am wanting to switch from a Business type account to a Personal one, how do I go about it?

So she does not want to upgrade but wants to downgrade, as she already has a personal account (which I keep telling her) there is no need to downgrade, that is where the confusion arises.

Hi @kernowlass

Thank you for bringing this back to my attention.

I apologize for any confusion I caused, and after rereading what I wrote again, I can absolutely understand where it's coming from. It looks like my coffee hasn't kicked in yet. I wanted to reach out to help confirm that their account was indeed a personal account, as you had said.

Since @Dothackjhe mentioned not being able to see the option to upgrade, I wanted to provide some additional details on how they might be able to fix that. I believe that's why they are worried they have a business account. I also like to include information on the different account types whenever this type of topic comes up.

Thank you again for reaching back out so I could clarify; I really appreciate it!

- Meghan

First off, I am a male, so my pronoun is a "he/him." And yes, I was under the impression that my account had become a Business type for not being able to find the "upgrade to Business account" option. But the real reason I am wanting to keep my PayPal account Personal is the fact that, after an earlier discussion with a GCash representative, I learned that I would need a Personal type PayPal account in order to link a GCash MasterCard. Right now, linking the card is being a pain in the rear itself.

Sorry I don't have the power of telepathy to correctly guess your gender and made an error as your username began with Dot !!

Secondly I pointed out from the very first you had a personal account and even supplied the proof in the header of your community profile but was accused of 'assuming' the facts when they were glaringly obvious in black and white.

As for linking your GCash card yes there are certain requirements needed however at the risk of being accused of 'assuming' again I will refrain from giving anymore advice.

Hope you sort it ok.

@kernowlass Sorry for sounding standoffish. But, while I appreciate your help on this, we were not on the same page. Sadly, false assumptions are not doing it any favor. Again, I do not mean to be offensive.

There were no false assumptions, you said you had a business account when you clearly do not, as I have clearly pointed out and it was confirmed by a Paypal moderator on this thread.

You have a personal account.
