I've been using PayPal for years yet suddenly every time I log in I'm required to enter a security code texted to my phone. I'm using the same desktop computer running the same Windows 10 so how is this necessary? It's getting tedious...

Hi @voyeuse! I am sorry to know you are facing issues regards to the security of the account while logging in. There might be the possibility that you have enabled 2-step verification.

Here’s how to disable 2-step verification at any time:

Go to your Profile Settings.
Click “Security” or “Login and Security” menu
Select the link for 2-step verification
Click Turn Off next to 2-step verification
Click Done to disable 2-step verification.

If you are still facing issues please contact customer services to resolve any account specific issues.
www.paypal.com- Click help / contact bottom left of PayPal pages for options available for your country.

Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?

You can send them a personal message from their Facebook or Twitter pages.

I hope this helps! Thank you- Priya

Thank you for the reply, but there is no turn off capability available for 2-step verification. So what do I do?

Hi @voyeuse,

Thank you for your post and welcome back to the community. I'm sorry to hear of your frustration with the security measure that's being employed to protect your account, and I apologize for any confusion regarding the situation. Thank you also to @Priya01for the information about 2-step verification. I understand the confusion regarding the question.

When there is the possibility of risk associated with a login, additional measures may be taken during login. There isn't a way to bypass that, and only completing the step will allow you to login to your account. I am glad to know that we're keeping your account safe for you, but I regret that it presents an inconvenience.

Olivia
