Log in requires 6 digit code each time?

Does everyone have to get a 6 digit code sent to your mobile before you can pay for items by PayPal? I have just spoken to someone at PayPal whose English was hard for me to understand and he said it was so they can be sure it's the right person. But I said so why is there was an option that said remember this device, if you are still going to force us to receive a 6 digit code every time anyway? He couldn't answer that - he just kept repeating that it was so they could be sure bla bla bla. Does anyone else find that extremely annoying?

Yes! Conversely you have plenty of people complaining about the Trusted Devices feature & how they "don't" want it & "want" to be asked for a code every time. The only conclusion I can come to is the feature set of 2-step/2FA/MFA multi factor AND trusted devices or one-touch is so bugged or badly implemented that it is all next to useless.   I want my laptop and my phone app to be trusted - I do not want to have to tediously enter a blasted 2FA code every single damn time BUT no - doesn't matter what I do I cannot get them trusted.  It is so frustrating I've actually DISABLED 2FA entirely.
