Paid using sufficient funds, but all I see is 'pending' and 'Temporary Hold' !!!

I just bought something using funds in my PayPal account (this was NOT on ebay).

But on the PayPal details page on one box headed 'Original Authorisation' it says "status - pending", and on another box headed 'Related Transaction' it says 'Temporary Hold'.

What is going on?  I had funds in my PayPal account sufficient to pay for the product.  Why hasn't it just been paid instantly?

This is hugely inconvenient and I can't see myself using PayPal again if all I get is these cryptic messages, and no payment to the seller!

Hi there Awd,

Sometimes when you send a payment from your PayPal account, it is sent accross to your seller as an order. In this case, the funds are placed on hold and the merchant doesn't accept the payment until they check to see that they have the items in stock. An example of a company that use this procedure is Boots.

If it is still showing as Pending after 3-5 days, you should try contacting the merchant directly and advising them when you made the payment and ask them to check their account. When they can see the payment, they can verify that they have the item in stock and accept your order.

If this is not accepted by the merchant, it will not be automatically cancelled on your PayPal account until 29 days passes from when you made the order.

I hope this helps,

David.
