I received an email and when I try to open the email is locks up my outlook and then opens a window with the following "\\102.112.207.net\6\ss\PAYPALGLOBAL\1\G.4-NS". this will keep happening until I am able to click off the email.
Any ideas as to what is going on.

For the record the same thing is happening here. Trying to open Instant Payment Received emails hang Outlook 2007. Interestingly if I go to Deleted Items in Outlook and open an Instant Payment from the day before or earlier they open just fine. This just started early this morning, and any instant payments I try to open since then hang Outlook. Did you folks start doing something different with your emails early this morning?
I'm hoping you can resolve this soon. Good Luck.

... sorry to say, but it is a nightmare. Outook is the most important application on many of our workstations. Noboday can work properly anymore. Hopefully you will solve it very, very soon.

Hi Andy. It only takes a google search with a few obvious terms to demonstrate that this issue is a lot bigger than 'a couple of emails'.
Being unable to access Outlook has disrupted my business today and it's really **bleep** me off. I trust there's going to be a full explanation and a sincere apology. I imagine that many regular PayPal traders will have lost significant income through PayPal's error and subsequent failure to resolve it promptly.

There's an effective fix HERE.
But shouldn't it be PayPal offering the solutions? Or is this a case of corporate reticence to acknowledge responsibility for its failings?

Hi Andy, I think you might also find that nost security systems do not like the script to that company you are using to track traffic. They have been know to go over the line in tracking your movements with thier spybots.

Andy, I hope you and PayPal get this resolved quickly, I don't understand why opening paypal payment received notices are stalling my Outlook 2010 on my win 7 system, I have spent many valuable hours trying to figure out what is going on, believing that a bug/virus was redirecting this information to some malware site..
Any idea when it will be corrected? I believe PayPal should be liable and compensate us membeers that have spent so much time, it is the worse type of problem to be delayed trying to use paypal email and waiting 30+ seconds for it to come back..

I can confirm and have emailed Paypal as I urge everyone to do that the problem is this tracking pixel they have inserted into emails over the past week or so. Specifically you can find this tracking pixel near the end of the email
img border=0 width=1 height=1 id="_x0000_i1028" src="//102.112.2O7.net/b/ss/paypalglobal/1/G.4--NS/123456?pageName=system_email_PP1520"
Here I show Outlook trying to pull that image and I've blocked it at my Firewall:
It appears this has been happening for a week and Paypal has been aware of the issue for at least 4 days with no fix. It's bad enough your selling our information to a third party or allowing a third party to track your customers but you don't seem to care enough to address the issue in a timely manner. Shall I send you a bill for my time dealing with this, my rate is $145/hr, afterhours and weekends $225/hr, min. 1 hour callout?
BTW I should add that the use of a tracking pixel in communications while common place with spammers has been viewed as cyberstalking by some areas like New York.
