I received an email and when I try to open the email is locks up my outlook and then opens a window with the following "\\102.112.207.net\6\ss\PAYPALGLOBAL\1\G.4-NS". this will keep happening until I am able to click off the email.
Any ideas as to what is going on.

I should've added that I'm also Outlook 2007, Windows 7, 64 bit. Started happening with Paypal payment emails after around 11pm EST 10/11. Paypal emails received before then are unaffected.

SAME PROBLEM. If you wait 2 minutes (per EACH PayPal email), Outlook will eventually unfreeze. But this makes it really hard to do business, when you have many emails from them. And it's just the emails sent by PayPal, starting today.
If you Google "outlook paypal freezes", you'll find that the blogs are suddenly full of complaints, people wondering what's wrong with their computer.
I uninstalled Outlook and reinstalled it, thinking it was on my end.
Then I found that it was malware being sent out by PayPal.

Same here! I can't work with email because two PayPal emails are crashing Outlook. If I can't work, I'm losing income. Paypal need to fix this right away and issue an explanation and an apology.

i found this on another post and i can confirm it works.
This basically has to do with the Paypal HTML email having a tracking pixel in it from Omniture, which owns the 102.112.2o7.net server. (note 2o7.net, it's the letter O, not a zero).
If you don't care about contributing to Paypal statistics, as I'm sure most won't, the easiest, most permanent fix is to:
1. Start Notepad.exe as Administrator (right click notepad, and choose "Run as Administrator").
2. Open this file, or create it if it does not exist: C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
Assuming you installed Windows in the default location, if not substitute C:\Windows for wherever you installed it.
3. Add this line to the end of the file:
127.0.0.1 102.112.2o7.net
4. Save the file.
This will basically route 2o7.net request back to your computer, which will reject it, allowing you to read your emails quickly and in peace once again.
This fix will work on 32/64 bit versions of both Vista and Win 7
