Dispute

I attempted to buy a cheap breville expresso machine from www.techbrezone.com through PayPal back in April and soon realized it was too good to be true and actually a fraudulent website. I used PayPal because I thought it was safe but I never received the item and the seller has not responded to my many attempts at resolving the missing item. I have proof from UPS saying even though the tracking information is saying delivered, my address doesn’t match the address it was delivered to. But because the information doesn’t match they can’t tell me where it was “supposedly” delivered to due to the contact information not matching. PayPal is ignoring all my calls and messages, so I disputed with my bank. They gave me a credit but then recently charged me the $300 due to PayPal stating the tracking information says delivered even through UPS is proving it never delivered to my address. I will never use PayPal again after this. Any ideas on how I can get my money back? I used PayPal because I thought it was safe but now I know how unsafe, unreliable, and uneducated the customer service is. Thanks, Adam

Wow, I had this exact same experience with this fraudulent seller back in early April.  Same response from PayPal - exactly.  I spent weeks trying to inform them that the seller was a scam artist -- hoping they would shut him down and possibly prevent other customers from having the same experience -- with no luck.  I'm finding that PayPal claims they have buyer protection but do absolutely nothing to protect buyers in the case of this kind of fraud.  Every time I've tried to reopen or appeal my claim they immediately shut it down.  It takes days and days to get an online response.  They have most recently rejected all of my emails from UPS (proving that the package was never addressed to me, sent to a different address, and weighed a fraction of what it should have), and told me that I need to file a missing package report with my local police.  I'm beyond frustrated and now finding that this is a rampant problem with PayPal -- interesting for a company that has seen 25-30% growth in these past five months of a pandemic.
