Limits Still In Place?

As far as I'm aware, my account is verified and I've followed all the steps to lift the limits on my account, but there's still a £1,700 yearly limit. I've trawled the Help section, but to no avail.

How DO you lift the limits?

well now i got the EU warning about 2pm yesterday and been chasing them about it every since, (tho i been chasing them about the receiveing limit since 12th of jan) and still they aint told me what they really want, and im more than likely going to have to shut down all my ebay items for sale since im now with-in about 1-2 days of going over what i have left (119.xx£ to receive),

i guess its time to start looking in to see if i can borrow a friends paypal account for a few days or weeks untill paypal get this sorted or atless tell me what they want to see copys of so i can get this sorted,

paypal is a joke at the momment,

Hi there, If you've now received the EU warning it would be worthwhile phoning Customer Services again.

When this happened to me it wasn't until I'd got the EU warning that Customer Services were able to tell me exactly what information was missing and how to get it to them. In my case they just needed a copy of some photo-ID and something that confirmed my address. Customer services put an upload button on my PayPal page and I simply photographed my drivers licence and a bill and sent them the files. They accept scans and faxes too.

Up till then I was tearing my hair out, just like you. Why not phone Customer Services once more and see if you can get it fixed now.

Cheers and good luck.

P.S. If all else fails have a look at Google Checkout, which is what I was going to move to if PayPal couldn't sort themselves out.

thanks for the reply,

i did call them again, and the limit did get lifted, but really amusingly i didnt even have to send them any extra document as i had already sent them all my documents when i opened the account, so the amusing part i cant even understand why they didnt just lift it themselfs lol,

but oh well its done with now,

Hello,

Just spoke to paypal customer service. And got a fantastic lady just took 2 minutes of my time, said it was a glitch in the system and now I can make a payment. So a fix for this is to call customer service!

If you get SHIRLEY, she's the one that helped out!

Hey there, good for you Shahid. If you have reviewed your check list and everything has been done, then please do contact Customer Support and ask them to review your account. If there are still steps to be completed in the checklist, well you will need to complete those. Best of luck.

Hi,with regard to verifying bank accounts after 1900 GBP spent-  I do not want a direct debit arrangement, just to use my debit card as before. If this is not possible or I am misunderstanding something let me know as I am confused and wish to close my account if the direct debit agreement is mandatory. Chris

Hi,

you do technically have to complete this direct debit arrangement to verify your account, but a few things about this

 * It only requests money through the DD when you make a payment, it is not a monthly or recurring DD or anything like that

 * It is currently the only way to add funds from your bank to your PayPal balance and is needed to send refunds if you don't have enough money in your PayPal balance (refunds cannot be send using a card)

 * When you are making a payment you can always choose a different card over the direct debit

Finally, if you absolutely don't want to use the Direct Debit, once your account has been verified you can them go to your profile and remove the bank, this cancels the Direct Debit Mandate. Once you have verified your information once it is not a requirement to keep the mandate open, the actual verification has been completed.

hope that helps 🙂
