I've been using my paypal for years with my natwest card but recently the card was renewed and when I try to add it to paypal I cant.
It looks like Im completely scuppered because I live in Spain now and just want to be able to use my UK card with my UK Paypal account.
Anybody know if there's a workaround?
Mick

Hi Mick, PayPal is country specific. That means if you have a UK account, the financial information must have UK addresses attached to it to be accepted on the system. If your card has a Spanish address, and you intend to spend some time there. You may wish to consider opening a Spanish PayPal account.

I do have a spanish paypal account which is attached to my spanish business bank account.
However, I want to continue using my UK bank account with my UK paypal account. Surely the fact that my bank sends my statements to an address in Spain shouldn't dictate that I can no longer have my UK bank card connected to my UK paypal..
I currently don't have an address in UK so thats it... Useless.
Thanks for your feedback.

I have the same problem but i do not have a spanish bank account either, so i would have the same problem trying to register an english card with spanish paypal...I would have thought that it should be simple enough to allow an english card and spanish address....As long as the card is registered to the correct address who should care where the bank is or the address is.

I'm having a similar problem: I've just moved to the US from the UK and want to update my address on my account profile in order to add my US bank details (and remove the UK one). However, I can't see how to update my country setting.
I can't believe the only option is to open a completely new US account. Any clues?

Hey all, just to remind you. PayPal has to accept the financial regulations in each country or territory we trade in, whether that’s the US, UK or Spain. Though your address may be in any country, your bank is located in a specific area. So your bank/card has your address in Spain or the US. However, the bank/card issuer itself is located in the UK. We are then tied to the financial regulations in that area. Once again, sorry for this, it is a real inconvenience, but we are constantly trying to improve. As has already been suggested, if you are intending to stay in the one location, please open a PayPal account there.

Hi, I do have a Spanish Paypal account (which I've had for many years), and it's always been linked to a British credit card registered at my address in Spain. Recently, when my credit card expired, I tried to link and confirm the new one (the same credit card with the same number, simply with a new expiry date). It refuses it and I get a message 'This card has been disabled for entry into the PayPal system. Please add a different card. You may also contact us using this form.' So I tried using the form but when I try to submit my question a red warning comes up 'Please enter valid last 4 digits' (of my credit card), but I am entering the last 4 digits correctly! So, Paypal Spain will not accept my credit card nor, apparently, can I submit the form asking why not. Any suggestions?

Hey there livinginmalaga,
When you get this error sometimes it is possible to have the card re-enabled, however this isn’t known until you contact PayPal customer service and ask.
If you give them a call ask them can they re-enable your card for use. Let us know how you get on.

Hmm, you might be in a catch 22 situation here. I'm going to go get this checked, I believe it can be possible although it may be too late for your card here (based on the message you're getting). I'll find out and post here later.
