I recently purchased a phone for approx £300 on ebay, but because the email id of the seller did not seem working, for some reason or the other. I then did a Send Money, and trasnferred the money to him by adding this note :

Hi <ebayuserid>,

Since you had problems with your email id, as discussed I am sending money using your corrected email id. Please confirm once you receive the payment.

Regards

XX

Now, i have opened an Item Not as described case against this user (as i have used Send money, iam supposed to Paypal for disputes) Will I get my money back

Has anyone been here.

Hi there rakesh5883,

Once you sent the payment as a payment for 'Goods' then you are covered under our buyer protection policy.

I had the same problem, I bought some goods from eBay but paid as a personal payment. I contacted the seller for his email address to pay to. Did it and he dissapeared. His eBay item didn't exist, it was a scam and he did this to 4 Other people too. On the PayPal invoice I put in the notes section, for r/c car (remote control). So it was for goods. I've still got the listing that I thought I bought. I've been to the police about it and I have enough evidence to prove my issue. Why am I not protected for this

Hi there Dudeman2009,

Not all transactions are eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection.

Personal Payments are not covered under our buyer protection policy.

To learn more about PayPal Buyer Protection and to see the full eligibility requirements, click ‘Legal Agreements’ at the bottom of any PayPal page, and then click ‘PayPal User Agreement.’

Hi

I won an ebay auction but the seller wants me to pay into a different paypal email address account so I can't do it through paypal from my ebay account.  The seller has 0 feedback and I am worried about being taken for a ride.  ~What should I do?

Don't do it mate unless it's through eBay. Dont Pay into a desperate account that eBay don't know about. If you do then don't expect any help from payPal. You will not be covered by their buyers protection, they will look at it like its a personal payment, you didn't buy any goods and they will basically says its your own fault so lump it. That's what they did with me and my £180. Pay through eBay checkouts or not at all. Not into any separate other accounts. Also if you can get every single detail from him, name, address, phone number and actually talk to him to make sure it's for real. Cover your arse man completely mate coz PayPal will not help you at all. Be warned of it mate and good luck
