Hi everyone,
I'd like to apologise about the delay in giving an update on this. We have been investigating your queries and responses.
Nowadays, we aim to withdraw money to your bank within 2 hours of you initiating it from your PayPal account. This is much faster than before.
However, our system delays a small amount of withdrawals for security reasons. These will usually take 21 hours to complete, a very small amount can take 72 hours. These will show as being “under review” in your PayPal account.
You can find the small print in our UA in section 6.2.b.3.
P.S. While I hope this sheds some light on the situation, I understand your frustration and confusion. I’ll make sure to forward your feedback, too.
Thanks,
David.

none of my wihdrawls are in my bank account in 2 hours the quickest is 24 hours..
paypal have still not given a definative answer to these withdrawl requests suffice as to say they do what they want and cover themselves with any answer/small print they want.
the comments regading security checks are utter gargbage the fact is their sysem cannot cope
the interest they make must be billions
they are quick to take your fees and charges yet keep your money until someone somewhere pushes a butoon
UTTER DISGRACEFUL.....

For a while, things were going OK with my withdrawals. At first I got the security checks, then my withdrawals started going through instantly, even though PayPal said they might take two hours. Fine and dandy.
Then went to transfer money today and it said it will take 72 hours. Not even a reason like a "security check".
The first thing I am going to do in the New Year is look for an alternative to PayPal, I don't use it for Ebay, but for payments for my services so am sure there is a better company out there, will just take some setting up.
I am currently paying interest on my overdraft because PayPal are holding my money for work I have already done, so I can't get my bank account out of overdraft while PayPal earn interest on my money.
Doesn't seem like PayPal listen though givent the amount of angst on here for months now!

I rang PayPal today, havig been promised payment in November, and the American-sounding lady I talked to said that they would email me within 24 - 48 hours with news on recovery of my money, so we shall see...

It's very ironic that I got an email today from PayPal saying they would really like to hear my opinion, as it seems they don't listen to the opinions expressed on here! So I told it straight. I wonder if I will win the prize draw?
Meanwhile, I would like to thank PayPal for saving me money, the 3 days wait (still not got my money) while I pay interest of 19.9% daily to my bank because I haven't been able to pay in money I have earned, has given me time to think, and in fact for my business it's no problem to be be paid via direct faster payments transfer from my clients. So by delaying my withdrawal, PayPal have not only saved me the 3.4% + fees on every future transaction I would have made with PayPal, but also all future interest I might pay to my bank while I wait to get my money out of PayPal.
Thanks ever so much!!!!!!

Hi,
Can I ask if you found an alternative to payapal as i want to do the same, as not getting money withdrawals to my account. I operate a website only like you, nothing to do with ebay...and recommendations would be great.

Finally got money, but am terrified now of receiving any more paypal payments with the holidays coming, which is not the way doing business should be.
Emailed customer service with my unique transaction number and outlined the situation, and got a list of FAQs back by way of reply - utterly fantastic!!!!!!
ETA: HA HA HA - from the FAQ sent back "Your money will usually take up to 2 hours to appear in your bank account."
Sigh...

Could't do anything so just had to wait. Latest debacle is now customers are emailing me asking me how to pay me as they haven't received invoices - which are listed as sent in my account... On top of the withdrawal delays. I have to echo the Dragons in saying PayPal, I'm out!
